For a little change of pace.......I was thinking of bringing my XBOX with me so I don't get that dreded "VIDEO GAME WITHDRAWL". Anyways would that be a smart idea? Of course I'd be bringing a TV that I could hook it up to. Has there been lots of stories about roommate taking/stealing other roommates stuff?? Thanks for the heads-up!

Lee had a good sugestion in that regard, just get an inexpensive METAL locking toolbox and put a combo lock on it and chain it to your bed or put the x-box in the trunk of your car if the summer heat wont kill it. Tool boxes are really cheap at Dollar General, a combo lock is about a dollar and an inexpensive cable bike lock is only a dollar as well. I used one of the cheapies to make it harder to steal my jetski trailer from hotel parking lots. An x-box with games can run into the hundreds so....LOCK IT UP.

Locks kept honest people honest!

I've had a TV, VCR and DVD player both summers while I was at the Point. Luckily, no one horked them, but I was very very careful about keeping my room locked when I wasn't around, and made sure that my roommates in my particular bedroom felt the same way.

I've always thought about doing something creative, like getting a nice big wooden trunk to store things in (such as my PlayStation and games, which I currently don't bring to CP) and boring holes in the side of it for the cords to come out of. It could double as a suitcase for hauling my junk to CP. Several people at school did something like that for their things.

You need to be careful while at work, too. If you're allowed to bring a backpack or a purse to your location, don't leave valuables in it unattended. On rainy days, umbrellas have a tendency to disappear, too...some people will take anything given half the chance. The harder your stuff is to get at, and the less you leave it where someone can easily get at it, the less likely it will walk off on you.

Yes I did not think of the "wooden box" idea, perhaps you can make one or buy something like it. A few holes in a 10 dollar locking toolbox aint gonna hurt the sucker!
Tanner... be careful about the Christmas lights. My roommate Sarah said something about how she had them up the other year, I think, and CP randomly confiscated them and she couldn't even get them until the end of the summer! I think it's one of those things like having an air conditioner that wasn't "registered".... you can *have* it, but they better never *know* that you have it. ;)
