The park should make all reasonable efforts to separate smokers from non-smokers. But when push comes to shove, I'd have to think someone's right to breathe is more important than someone's right to smoke. After all, "When You Can't Breathe, Nothing Else Matters ®"

I agree Walt.. I lived in a smoking apt last year even though I don't smoke because my friends were there..

I could care less.. This year, because of who I'm rooming with and when I'm getting there.. I'll probably get a non-smoking room..

Oh jeez here comes retaliation from smokers everywhere. . . smoking can hardly be compared to 'pissing.'

I believe smoking is a very fragile right to a diminishing population. The majority believe smoking is wrong and want nothing to do with it. Therefore, smoking should be reserved to prohibited areas of which non-smokers can ignore. Dorms should automaticly be non-smoking, unless the consensus of the roomates agree upon it. Smoking should be prohibited in the halls and stairs anyway. If need be, smokers can go outside and smoke.
Smoking inside a building where people are living is like smoking in the queues...and its prohibited there. I don't see why they wouldn't make the dorms non-smoking buildings.

OK whoa horsey [this specific horsey is a girl who deletes her posts after other people talk about them], did you NOT hear about what Red Garter Rob so simply explained? Say CP DOES have a "smoke free" dorm. . .what if people don't like smoke, they just don't like the smell, so they get rooms there? Then people who actually have health issues try to get a room, and its full . . . you are back to where you started.

I am sure that if this is something you have had to deal with your whole life, you have came up with ingenious compromises to help with your problem, and I am sure you have also had to do things a little differently (for better or for worse).

Personally, I am allergic to extreme exposure to sunlight. So I am requesting that a special dorm be built for me, with a light-reflecting shell made of aluminum foil, and with plastic tunnels all around the park, and a special space suit made of bottle caps and twist ties that protects me from harmful UV rays. It should at least be an option to those workers (like me!) who don't want the damaging UV rays to affect their complextion. It's a natural right. It's only fair.

I am too. But even though one of my roomates smoked last year, I did pretty good for the season not getting sick.

Live E, do you think I could get one of those suits? Just for the heck of it, they sound like a lot of fun;)

99er . . . come on, if you don't HAVE a problem, then you are PART of the problem. Just because I have a debilitating skin disorder, doesn't mean that I ENJOY it. The bottle cap/twist tie suit is specifically engineered to fit my personal needs and regulations. . .the suit would be no use to you. In fact, the lining of the suit excretes a special blend of amino acids that helps deal with my problem, and it would wreak havoc on your skin cells. So I can't even let you borrow it! Sorry. . . but you can touch it if you wear gloves. . .maybe. We'll see.

You see LIVE, the moral majority would like a smoke-free dorm, your idea is not only preposterous, but only serves 1 in a few million in theory. Its not like handicap ramps, you wont see the Supreme Court ruling that albinos have equal dim-lighting rights.
Funny how sarcasm is evident to the masses, but not to all...;)

Reasoning applies only to those who utilize it... some things go over people's heads, so to speak...
Thank you, CP Bound! I swear. . . what do I have to do for some people?? How much of a gross exaggeration is necessary to get the idea across that it's a farce?? Wowzer. . . Still, from my viewpoint, it makes it all the more enjoyable.

you people have way to much time on your hands to be wasting mind power to find an eliquent way to argue a moot point that will come to no good conclusion for all...as a famous bat once said...this can only end in tears!

I do believe that some apartments in Commons (the ones that hold like 15 people) are smoke free. I remember when I lived there for two days, the apartment I was in was smoke free. Unfortunately the girls that were living there for a few days didn't abide by it, but they did smoke soley in their room. I think that's the closest to smoke free that you'll get.

Hello, this debate could go on forever, I think for thoes of us who are non smokers and would like to live without the harmfull effects of second hand smoke, we can just live with our friends. That is what I am doing I got 2 friends that I am gonna room with in the 1500's building(the guys part) and I wont have to deal with smoke in my room. I loved GCA and rides last year did not have to deal with somke at all unless walking down the midway. But yea I have no problem with people that smoke many of my friends smoke I just think that if they are gonna smoke dont smoke around me or blow it away from me.
