Halloweekends 2011

Asylum was a "meh" to me. It was ok but definitely has room to get better. I'm sure it will be much like how Happy Jacks developed last year compared to it's first year. Though I do agree that the swinging corpse room was just too out of place where the vortex would have been MUCH better alternative.

As for these 2 new zones, I'm super stoked. Blood on the Bayou looks and sounds VERY promising with the area it occupies. And ScreamWorks, though replacing a fan favorite, still sounds promising. I think they could still work in the giant talking skull by perhaps making it look like a metal mechanical skull......or something. :)

Yes! The skull was one of my favorites i remember a long time ago i was with my cousin and the skull said "Hey you with red shirt" and my cousin flipped out. I see no reason why they couldnt work it in!

RIP DEMON DROP I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU

I like that green laser light that is right behind tge skull. I think it looks really cool. I think its there for starlight too.

Gonna drop some logic to end some ridiculousness about this train idea.

CP = Safety First
Train = DANGEROUS
Dangerous = not safety first

Therefore
CP does not = train

/end train topic.

If you get a chance they are already setting up for halloweekends. If you look by the dragster photo center they have an old house and a boat that look pretty sweet for the bayou. If you walk though the frontier trail they have one of the paddle duck painted gold and rustic looking with a machine on the back of it.

2012 Blood on the bayou.

That sounds interesting

Does anybody know about how many total Screamsters there are for Halloweekends?

It seems like there are an awful lot of them (and that is AWESOME)!

This year we are aiming for 500 screamsters.

Do the screamsters get a night to ride the rides?

Maybe the Bayou haunt will look something like this classic. :)

Promoter of fog.

If you want to know some ideas for Halloweekends this year, I would advise making a trip to Cedar Point while they are setting up. I went today, and you knew for sure Halloweekends was in the air. They have some of their big pieces out with a "New for 2011" signs right by (including the Halloweekends hurse in front). Also, they are bulding houses/moving things around in the Bayou area. From what I saw today, they had a lot of houses along the path, including a real old tralior! (If you get curious, the Iron Dragon is a great place to take a little "look" down while you are riding...) From the looks of the path of the new Bayou area, it seems to be different from the rest of the walkthroughs. There are many paths branching into two or three paths, making it more of a maze then anything else, so you might also have to try to find your way out as well! Now, Screamworks. Just like Chris says, there is an old painted paddle boat duck with a copper paint job, red glowing eyes, and bolts on the side. In the back is a weird looking machine that maybe has steam coming out of it? It looks more like a Cappuccino machine then anything else. Many people are saying look out for Robots in this new haunted attraction. (Also, by the Gemini storage area behind the restrooms, the giant skull is out of storage, and it looks like it is getting a paint job or something. So HOPEFULLY, it will be back where it belongs this year!)

I can't wait to see the new haunts. Only about 1 month left!!!

I have never been to halloweekends on opening night. I'm going this year. Is there a special celebration or something?

Open night and weekend would be a good time to go. But the only thing is that alot of the screamsters are trying to get back in the rhythm of scaring. So if you go don't be surprised that we might be a little lame. Come back by week 3 or 4 then we should be back to our orginal self. The first week is trying to get the newbies into the game and teach them how to scare. There is really not opening celebrations. You might see alot of us go really crazy since it our first night back and are excited to scare again. Only celebration we have is the overlord speech. To ask your other question they do not keep the rides open for us after closing for us. =(

Aww that's a shame. They should give you guys a ride night for all of your hard work!!

But I have a season pass so I'll probably be there every Friday night. Or every other... But thank you for the heads up.

like any other employee we can go in early saturday or sunday and ride before getting into makeup.

If it's your first time going to Halloweekends, don't miss the Overlord ceremony. It happens around 7:35 in front of the projection booth for the night show (next to Coasters Drive In).

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

Do you have to pay to do that?

and thank you. I will be sure to do that.

Nope, it's open for everyone on the midway. Even the ones who aren't expecting it. ;)

Edit: realized you were responding to two different posts. Employees get free access to the park during their time of employment there. So yes, you can go in before your shift and ride rides for free.

I have gone to Halloweekends every year that CP has had it and I still haven't been to an Overlord ceremony! I really need to try to go this year!

Sad to see "Fright Zone" being changed. It was my favorite part.
