Aaaand what questions are being answered in that picture? That the main gate is in fact being taken down as well, and rebuilt a few feet from it's current location.
Ed Dangler said:
"This foundation will be topped off with
20 foot concrete columns and then
80 feet of steel above that"
Ed continued:
"the concrete columns from one to the other will be a roof
and that'll be where you swipe your season pass card"
Seems pretty straight forward to me. The current gate will be demolished and a new one will be built.
Sorry, I just didn't know since so many people stress on the fact that the renderings aren't 100% accurate, while Bryan Edwards didn't know the main gate was in fact being replaced as well.
Renderings don't always predict the exact look of future surrounding structures. They probably told the animator "It'll pass through these and they'll look something like this". So what you're seeing in the animation is a basic idea of what it'll look like.
And just because Bryan didn't have the full information doesn't mean that (in this case) the gates are staying. He's human, he wont have every bit of information.

I still don't think the Main Gate is going anywhere- perhaps between the two columns will be a roof, but that is an awfully small main gate. And if we're going to really piece apart what he said- he was referring to Season pass holders- perhaps they will enter between the two keyholes, and somehow be migrated into the park between the existing main gate- and everyone else will enter on either side of the keyholes-- through what is currently the main gate. I am surprised there is not a more detailed rendering of the new main gate. I understand the rendering shows the main gate, but I am referring to something more along the lines of how they released a rendering of what the new entrance of Soak City at Kings Island looked like.
How will anyone get into the park next year if no one here knows the shape, size and color of the front gate? O noes!!!!11!

To discuss this ad nauseum is the problem. Nobody is happy with the animation or the vague description that's been given at construction tours.
If the park doesn't even know, why get frustrated about it? Clearly there's a blueprint that details what's going there. And nobody is sharing it. So everyone will just have to wait and see (unless someone from the park addresses this specifically).

TTD120mph, plans tend to change when new rides are built. That's why I, along with some others here, didn't know what the exact plans were.
A valid point. To bad it has already been made multiple times.;) And I'm going to go ahead and add that there's probably nobody on here who know's what any of the plans lay out.
But thanks for clearing that up with the obvious arrow pointing ;)
This is POINTbuzz after all. ::wha wha whaaaaa::

Jeff, sometimes you act like a doctor who doesn't like to be around sick people.
Of course half of these posts are retarded. I don't think anybody's debating that there is very little value-add to most of our lives resulting from these discussions. If anything, you gain the most out of these POINTless discussions (see what I did there?) by additional traffic driven to your site. Which is great, but you seem to mock people a lot for caring about things that you don't find important.
I just found it ironic, and never have been able to keep my opinions to myself. :)

I'd strongly prefer that you not use that word.
