They do have all season to work--- but usually you do deconstruction first and then construction. The pictures that I have seen showed the front gate all a mess while they poured the footers, and tore down the ticket booths--- the recent pictures I've seen look as though the footers are all poured and they are leveling the ground and cleaning things up for steel erection.
^^The truth is none of us know what the construction schedule is. Aside from the small bits of information we've heard from Bryan, Annie and others, we're in the dark when it comes to knowing when things "need" to be up or when things "need" to come down.
It could be argued that they wanted to get the ticket booths completely gone, first, so they could start the footers. Getting those done would probably be pretty high on the priority list (allowing for cure time and whatnot). The way it looks, they still have plenty of time to get the entrance gone before steel erection reaches that point. And I'm willing to bet that they could easily demolish the entrance building even with the track and supports up.

I believe the tweet from Pointbuzz said that work on the keyhole elements would start on Monday.
Let's Get Weird.
They said that the foundation work would start Monday. We probably won't see the track that goes there for a while
I'll definitely be interested to see if they do decide to get rid of the ticket scanner main gate. It would be cool to just build the towers on top of the current structure but I'm not sure If that would be possible. Is that possible?
No because you can't change where the coaster goes. The coaster was designed to go 15 feet from the main gate, you can't just move it 15 feet to the current gate. You can move the gate, you can't move the coaster.

First rollback on Dragster July 23 2003 since then 15
So the building that is getting the keyholes is going to be where we swipe our season passes? I'm still a little confused by it, but I'm just going to sit back and watch.
The new structure is going to be where all tickets are scanned, not just season passes. Like Jeff has said, there will be kiosks on the right where you can buy tickets if you haven't yet, I would imagine like how the movie theatres are now.
Ok, so to debunk what some think, the current entrance with the turnstiles IS going to be nonexistent since it's purpose isn't needed anymore. That's what I'm guessing by what I've gathered thus far.
Yes, they only started to think it wasn't going to be removed because it hasn't been yet, and it's December 10th.
So the towers will be 20% concrete at the bottom, and then hollow with supports the remaining 80%. Interesting.
This is really not that complicated.

Aaaand what questions are being answered in that picture? That the main gate is in fact being taken down as well, and rebuilt a few feet from it's current location.
Sorry, I just didn't know since so many people stress on the fact that the renderings aren't 100% accurate, while Bryan Edwards didn't know the main gate was in fact being replaced as well.
Wow 100 foot columns? I didn't think that'd be that tall.

I still don't hear in that clip that the existing main gate is going anywhere- it sounds like it will all be made into one entrance experience.

What was that tour for? I would have liked to have gone if I knew about it and how to get into it.
