Yeah ttd is gunna get beat and its time to move on. Lets say something happens though...maybe a valve was installed the wrong way, a wire is not connected, or a wrong material was used somewhere. Lets just think what whould happen if something did go wrong. Obviously the chances are slim to none but than again kingda ka has broken 0 records so far...
Six flags just bet a huge amount of money on odd and the roulette ball has not stopped yet...

I know several people over the years who got to ride and and basically said it felt like a large Magnum.
Sounds perfect to me!

No, they didn't just bet on odds. They bet odds, evens, red, black, 0, and 00. The only chance they have of losing is if they ball flies off the wheel and hits them in the eye. Which, as the same with if this ride doesn't work, SF will be slapping Intamin or the dealer with a big ol' lawsuit. They can not lose on this deal. Now after this first spin they won't play all of those numbers, but for now they now works and happy or broke and lawsuit they can't lose!

I guess we shall see if Intamin learned from their mistakes with TTD. I venture to say they learned a lot. I am certain TTDs downtime and mechanical issues were discussed in depth with SF when they were planing KK. I guess there are issues with TTD that we do not even know about. Knowing how CP is with maintaining their rides most of us would all assume Intamin is to blame. Perhaps they are not entirely at fault. Could CP have not followed the manufactors maintance instructions? Could they have thought they had found shortcuts which they thought would get TTD up and running quicker? Could these decisions have made done damage to the entire system? I thinks it's very possible. We all know airliners have taken shortcuts with maintance and ignored manfuactors guidelines with deadly results. If it happened in that field, who's to say it didn't here? Just a thought. Perhaps I have to much time on my hands. ;)
Since this subject has gotten way out of hand, how about a scene from the movie 'Contact'. They build a space travel machine that blows up into hundreds of pieces. I see a media day in April 05' when some guy in a Magnum is sinking T-shirt, strapping a bomb to his chest, screaming ' Cedar Point is my lord '. boom.....
To anyone who thinks this idea would work, watch the movie. They build another one! Oh well!!

What's it worth saying KK isn't going to work, it is. I wonder if KK will hit 100 or 115mph on the way down like TTD since it will be going slow for the first 50 or so feet on the way down.

So what if KK is a little bigger than TTD. It's the same ride. KK will have it's problems just like any new ride and they'll probably be similar to TTD's problems.

I meant it is going to work. TTD worked when it opened.

I know its going to be bigger, but it was just as official september 30th as it is now that the tower is topped off is all Im saying. I hope it doesnt collapse because I want to ride and even bigger coaster than TTD. Who cares if it breaks a record, I was only pointing out that topping off doesnt mean much.
The record is broke when that put the top track on, that was over 420 feet and locked it in place it was then the tallest coaster on earth. They did the same thing with MF and SD. After MF hit 310 feet or maybe it was when it ran for the 1st time they put the top track on SD and it was name the tallest coaster on earth but SD didnt run yet. That is how I think it was done but I am not sure so if im wrong sorry.
Goodbye 2005 season!!!!

thats not quite true... its going to have the overhead restraints, and also the second hill before it hits the breaks is different
i like the tbar restrants better...as i am a hands up on everything, its just more comfortable

Yeah it is more comfortable, a lot more comortable, plus you get that unsafe feeling. It makes for better rides.

Geez oh man, it is basically the same exact freakin ride! There is a hill, there is overheads, but it is just about the same thing. Launch up down (up down, only new part) brake run. I agree with you about the overheads. But they are the same ride feeling just about.
To be off subject for a second, isn't it funny how SFGA is publicizing KK's height and speed. They say " Taller and faster than any other coaster on earth", which to me means that to them, Dragster's dosn't even compared to KK. 35 extra feet and 8 extra mph isn't something to really brag about.
.....I find that funny

That bring's up another point. If Cedar Point built something like X at SFMM wouldn't it be considered at copy. The one thing I'm happy about is that CP doesn't have a reality ride. Where you sit down and look at TV screens. At CP what you see is what you get. If they can build a 500 ft X like coaster, I'll take it. But I think the human body might not be able to handle something like that

So "tallest" coaster on earth for Dragster, which just beats Superman: The Escape at SFMM by 5 feet isn't really something to brag about either?
Well no but(to bring up an old topic) there are still people out there who think that S:TE isn't a true coaster. Now I'm not saying that it isn't it's just that you have to consider 1. The trains don't make a complete curcuit and 2. the trains dont even reach 400 ft.
I'm sure it's a good ride but I'd would much rather pick Dragster over it. The ride on dragster is much more intense, the trains complete a full curciut reaching the full intentded height and reaching a speed going down that is still greater than Superman.
