The topic is "Dragster offically 2nd Tallest". But according to the home page of the Cedar Point web site, Top Thrill Dragster is "The World's Tallest, Fastest Roller Coaster! So who are you going to believe? Some lame park like SF or "America's Roller Coast" Cedar Point?
Also, if in your logic, the height of the structure indicates the height of the ride, (S:TE@MM) This means the worlds tallest coaster is...High Roller at 909 feet in Las Vegas. Or you can believe rcdb where they have an asterisk next to Kingda Ka, and rank TTD #1.
What may I ask are you talking about? There is no logic in that post what so ever.
I get what he's saying, but...

Smoking Marijuana isn't a bad thing or even a good one, like everything else, its what you make of it.
"some lame park like SF or "America's Roller Coaster" Cedar Point?"
....umm.. a park is comparable to any other park when you refer to just names. Its completely irrelevant, like saying "who are you going to believe, Ford or GM?"
I don't really think the OTSR on SR were that uncomfortable. They could have been better, or they could have slowed the train down before that last hill/turn thing (I have no idea what to call it.) That was the only somewhat painful experience of the ride. I really don't think KK is the Tallest yet. It hasn't even gone through the Pull Through test yet. It will be T/F when it's done it's first test. I don't know why you guys are complaining. I live 40 minutes from GAdv, and 10 hours away from Cedar Point. I would kill for Cedar Point to be 40 minutes away from my house. Cedar Point is an incredible park. GAdv isn't all that of a great adventure. It's still my home park, and I love it. But Cedar Point is just, I can't even describe it. You guys have a great collection of coasters. Even though we have KK I'm still jealous of all of you who live close to CP. The reason KK has the OTSR is cause of the breaks at the top, the fact that we have a bunny hill, and the plain fact that Six Flags and Intamin T-Bars go together as well oil and vinegar. I don't mind the OTSR, I'll still be able to feel the launch. And yes, Kingda Ka is probably the worst named roller coaster ever, I'm almost embarrassed to say it. I don't think it means anything, SF just made it up. TTD is in a great location. You can see the Whole launch from the path, but I don't think that will be the case with KK. I'm not going to say KK is better then TTD, or TTD sucks. TTD is amazing, and KK will most likely be just as amazing.
I thought that Dragster was considered the tallest after the structure went up, not after the first test. It's not like SF is going to test KK and it will fail. People need to get over themselves with the constant bashing of Six Flags and their affairs.
I'm actually quite sick of Six Flags bashing too. What do you people think, that if you keep arguing about it then Dragster will remain the tallest roller coaster for ever? Get over it. Who cares if it isn't the tallest and fastest coaster anymore, it doesn't make it any less fun of a ride. It's bound to happen, the record will be beat again and I'm sure Cedar Point will make another record breaking coaster eventually because they have done it many times before. Maybe now lines will be shorter because maybe people closer to New Jersey will go there to ride Kingda Ka instead of coming all the way to Ohio. So be happy for people in and around New Jersey and be happy that Dragster will remain a fun ride, nothing changes just because it lost the record.

...That's excatly what my family is doing. We usually go to Cedar Point every year, but this year we arn't due to Kingda Ka, so that's 6 less people that will be in TTD's line this year.
Long story short, this is MY OPINION.. I will say it and leave.
Someone was going to beat Dragster sooner or later. At least it was done by 36 feet and 8[+]mph, rather than 3 feet and 1mph. The fact that it was six flags is irrelevent. It couldve been a no-name park in Korea. My hats off to the company who makes the tallest and fastest coaster, especially one crazy enough to beat Dragster. I hope they can make it work.
Something was going to come along, and it did.
*flies away*
The same company (Intamin) that beat Dragster made Dragster, along with many other coasters at the Point.

Now I'm not bashing here but if you just think about it, KK dosn't beat Dragster by 8 mph. Dragster has alternating speed sometimes accessing over 120, which will probably be the same case for KK. So you could say that KK beats Dragster by 8,7,6,and 5 mph knowing that Dragster can and has been known to reach speeds of 125.

Dude... WHO CARES? What difference does it make? Is Dragster suddenly going to suck because of a ride hundreds of miles away? This is not a high school sports rivalry. Nobody cares.

Yes it will.....C'mon Jeff, you know its going to suck now, you're just better at hiding it than the rest of us....

OK, but the average launch is between 120-122. And who said KK will always be 128. KK could reach speeds of 130 or 131. So stop trying to come up with excuses and reasons to say TTD is still the tallest and fastest.
Now please, I'm with Jeff on this one, how is Dragster going to be worse just because KK was built. What, they have to modify the signs that say the dragster is the Tallest and Fastest? KK is not going to change TTD. Get over it. If you are going to criticize Dragster because it's no longer the tallest and fastest, then you are just spiting your selves, because Dragster is an amazing ride.
I'm not saying Dragster's better!!!!!! I'm just making a darn point!!
I was also reffering to KK when I said it could reach Higher speeds. And if you look closely at the begining of my post it says "Now I'm NOT bashing here but if you just THINK about it...."

I'm happy that someone beat Dragsters record. This just means that it's possible to go higher and faster.
I think Kingda Ka's launch speed will be more consistant than Dragster's.
Kingda Ka has a brake at the apex of the hill that will slow the trains to a predetermined speed, so the launch can be overpowered and the trains will still crest the hill at a safe speed. This should prevent much of the rollback problems Dragster has had. Also, this should mean that the 128 mph speed won't change much. 128 mph should be plenty for Kinga Ka, since the vertical rise isn't that much more than Dragster because the track starts higher from the ground than Dragster's track.
I'm not sure if the brake will reduce the ride quality, but I think I will still like the free rolling feeling of Dragster going over the top better.
But, it is obvious that Intamin has made changes to address some of the problems with Dragster, so those who think Kingda Ka will be as unreliable as Dragster was in it's first year will probably be surprised that it runs fairly well.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I agree with Pete. I'm sure Intamin discussed the problems Dragster has with SF and outlined how they will improve the workings of KK to avoid as much downtime. Of course there will be downtime, which will be posted all over the place on this site as soon as KK has it's first problem. I never thought people would take Dragster's records being beaten so personally. It's just not that big of a deal. I see it as progress. What will the next tera rocket coaster hold for us? I think it can only get better.
