OK, I totally believe you. I was crazy to question you in the first place.

They probally did lose some attendence, but it could not of been much. If you think of it, it would probally be from locals, not these big tour busses or schools. They are going to go no matter what, if they had planned everything in advance. Can you imange.... a big family traveled half a day to come, they see the ride is down for the day, and they just leave?? I don't see that happening.

Cedar Point did 3.2 million guests in 2003. That's hardly a bad year.

Yeah, I was messing with you. You're more full of crap than the litter box of an Ebola-stricken cat. *** Edited 2/21/2005 2:42:58 AM UTC by Jeff***

Yes, Cedar Point's attendance was 3.3 million in 2003 and 3.2 million in 2004.
Those are just numbers, Cedar Point got higher attendance when put something in. It's went down last summer because they didn't get anything new. Next year they are getting MaXair, so it will likely go up some. If they invested in the park and didn't get return on it or lost some, they would be called Six Flags Worlds of Adventure.
Intamin is in a different boat. They have spent much money in research and development on the hydraulic launch system, train modifications, and much more extensive control systems. They are not about to let it's future, nor a business relationship with the "worlds largest park" go up in smoke. They had to take a hit so hydraulic launch roller coasters have a future.
Top Thrill Dragster was a ride that ate pumps for breakfast, Tires for lunch, and for dinner... Hydraulic motors with a side of nylon, magnets and hoses. Talk about a hungry attention whore.
And how do you know what Intamin did or didn't do? Everyone says "Intamin this" and "Cedar Point that" but no one can attribute their "facts" to anything. I don't care if it's right or wrong, just don't make stuff up as the Gospel if it's not.

I know absolutely everything. You should know that by now. :)
I guess I got lazy and didn't add "In my opinion" or "The way I see it." When I read any given post, it's what I assume. Afterall, anyone can say anything.
Though saying "I was at Meijer last summer and I saw Jeff riding the big purple dinosaur" would be pushing it.

I would've been excited for this if it wasn't for the harnesses. I mean, shoot, everyone nose that the harnesses make the ride really uncomfy and just not fun to be in -- especially over that bunny hop (haha kind of funny to think of such a massive hill as a bunny hop)! OUCH! My shoulders are going to be in pain, but oh well, I guess that just means I'll have to ask my boy for another massage ;).
TTD was still the first over 400', so that counts as something, heck yea! I'm looking forward to opening day of GAdv, though just because it's so much closer than CP. I won't have to drive all the way to Sandusky to get my speed-fix. It's kind of like the difference between crack and high-quality coke. Crack may give you a heck of a buzz, but it's impure and horrible for you whereas coke is cleaner -- more pure. That's like GAdv vs CP. We all know which one's better, right guys? Hehe, ok enough "male reproductive organ" waving in this thread -- we don't need to bust out the rulers just yet, since we know CP is gonna come back with a big winner next summer!!!

No, I really dislike the park. The coaster ops are slow and line jumping is a major problem. But let's not turn this into a contest of who can shoot fluid excrement farther, ok? Thanks.

Also, let's try to follow the rules of the board. #1 is Spelling and Grammar and maintains that, "Respect for the English language is important...". In other words, it's "you're". If I were to be even more of a stickler, I would point out that your sentence construction is missing "that" and I present it henceforthwith:
"I take it that you're a 'Six Flags' fan."
My apologies, but proper grammar is a pet peeve of mine and this seems to be one of the few message boards that strictly (and effectively!) enforces its use. :) *** Edited 2/23/2005 3:04:46 AM UTC by TigerTyson***

As much as we hate to deny, cedar point does not hold the current record, however it holds the record from 2002-2004? as the first roller coaster in its class. All the one in NJ is **** as far as I am concerned cause they coppied completely, and they are just an imitator 6m.p.h. faster? that dont mean much, besides, the scenery sucks there. How many theme parks are surounded by water and can see canada over basically a freshwater ocean of awesomeness. As far as I am concerned, I am still loyal to Cedar Point. How many theme parks can you go to, that you can spend a whole day riding different rides, not riding the same one twice? Not the one in NJ, and not many at all other than CP, and a few feet of height does not make much of a difference other than a small fact of recordship. I hope they are satisfied with coppying an idea that does not belong to them.
Besides, cedar point will come out with something in a couple years that will blow NJ's ride off the map!
God, I sure hope not. I'd prefer a fun ride instead.
Here's a newsflash if you didn't read the previous five pages... nobody in the tri-state area gives a crap about Dragster, no one in Ohio or Michigan cares about Kingda Ka.
Furthermore, the scenery does not "suck" out there. It's the Garden State. Nitro has some really beautiful views. I'm guessing you've never been on it though, so how would you know?
