Took the ice out of the cup, this is how much water is actually in the cup. This is being generous since it was a hot, muggy day and some of ice melted.

^^Just be happy you're at least getting free cups of water. You should stop complaining though, because if they were to take this away you would probably rather have the cups back that are "shot glass sized" rather than no free water at all.
Yea...
Just bend over and take it. Don't whine or show your dislike, because custimer service should not matter.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
^^Why so they won't answer or return your call?
I'm not totally condoning this thread, but it falls on more listeners here than it does if you actually said something to anyone at Cedar Fair.
There are also more "listeners" in the bleachers at a NASCAR race. Would that also be a better venue than calling CF?
Brandon
As a matter of fact, yes. Seriously, try calling the office for anything other than a basic inquiry and see what happens.
So, you're suggesting the customer service and/or complaint response folks at CP/CF are completely numb to criticisms.
But... this thread somehow has impact?
That doesn't make any sense. If they don't care, they don't care.
ADDED:
I'd bet that if you were to write a letter a week to CP regarding this issue, and followed up with a phone call, you'd at the very least get an official response, even if it was to say "eff off".
How many times do you think Mr. Kinzel has called the complainants to apologize to them after reading their exquisitely conveyed grievances in this thread?
Brandon
No, not this thread exactly. But here is some proof Pointbuzz works better than Calling Cedar Point.
http://pointbuzz.com/Forums/Thread/20795.aspx
Before I even wrote that thread I called Cedar Point 3 times, made a complaint at the office and e-mailed them. With no response.
Now it was not Kinzel who responded, but I got a response here from CDride and on consumerist.com
So, yes. This works better than talking to anyone at Cedar Point directly. Facebook even works better than that. Like I said, it falls on deaf ears at Cedar Point or with anyone in Cedar Fair, but the internet works wonders.
It's not just a few coaster nerds complaining about the high prices and bad customer service. Look at this site and read the reviews of visits to the parks.
They all love the rides, but look at the cons also.
These are just everyday people that visit the park maybe once a year.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.

What's funny is that most of them still give it high marks. And the ones who rate it low (1-2 stars) have such high expectations that they would have been disappointed anyway. I mean, this moron didn't expect to wait in any lines in the middle of summer? And he's from Ohio? I know you breed them dumb in Columbus but even I can't believe they're that dumb.
Anyways, high food prices combined with low food quality isn't anything new. Its been a complaint of many people for a long time, although the fact that prices haven't come down would leave me to believe that enough people are still paying it.
What is new, is that someone is now disappointed/underwhelmed/unhappy (go ahead, pick one) with the size of the FREE (yes, free, as in no charge, complimentary, please take one) water cup. That's where you enter the realm of the one/two star responses from epinions. You have a good argument with food/drink prices not meeting quality, don't muddy it up with nonsense about the FREE water being too small.

Umm, wait 10 min on a hot day and I'll bet it's a full glass of water wth no ice at all. More CP magic!!!
Of course, you could buy a slushie and after a few minutes you'd be complaining that it is only water and no ice. A Kinzel conspiracy :O
This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!
I went to the park Saturday and Sunday. I took my old tall Dragster bottle. I requested ice water at 5 concession stands. Each time my bottle was filled to the top with ice and water.
End this stupid topic.

While I can't argue with you about the dumb comming out of columbus, I can about guest satisfaction.
I put this link on here to show an example of what people take with them from a visit to the park. Most of the people thought negative about the food and drink.
Is that something you want people to dwell on and adjust to if / when they visit the park again? What I mean, is that if you take advantage of people too much(and yes, I am also talking about the silly little cups of free water) with high prices and crappy service, they will remember that and adjust durring there next visit by bringing there own food and drinks.
I do it now and so do several other people I know that go to the park.
So now cedarpoint is not making a dime off of these people because they are not buying food or drinks from the park.It will and has started to catch up with them. So who wins in this situation? Cedarpoint has lost money, and at the same time they leave a bad taste in the guest's mouth.
So you may ask what this has to do with free cups of water?....Well....If I was a family on a limited budget(most are) and just spent crazy money on a crappy meal inside the park and wanted water to drink with it, I would be pissed if I was handed a tiny little cup of water after just dropping a house payment on a meal.
I agree that it is water and that it is free, but I also think it is an insult to hand someone a tiny little cup that hardley has any water in it and expect them to be happy with it. And that the only other alternative is to spend $4 on a soda or drink some warm water out of a fountain.Just another way for the park to say " we will show you if you don't want to buy our soda". I was at the park yesterday, and only found 1 fountain that even had semi cold water in it. And when I did go to a food stand to get a free water, The worker gave me 3 cups of water (without me even asking) and said these cups are really small, so here's 3. So on top of being stupid and giving tiny cups of water away, they are now spending more on cups then they did before because people will ask or just be givin more than 1 cup.
If the prices were just cheaper for a soda, I would have no problem with it. But that's not the case here.Hell, I think that I remember hearing that pepsi just gives them the syrup for the pop machines anyway in exchange for advertising. If that's the case, why is a soda so expensive? My dad ran a snack stand at a local park 2 years ago, and we estimated that it cost him under a dime(his cost), to put together a soda. That was for the cost of the ice, cup, straw and syrup. He charged $1.00 for a large soda and was making a 90% profit on it. He sold a lot of soda.

crazy, I have to ask:
Do you spend your entertainment dollars on anything other than Cedar Point?
I was in Italy a couple of months ago and I spent nearly $40 American on two coffees and a slice of cake because I was sitting in St. Marks Square.
I have to pay $20 bucks to park at a Miami Dolphins football game...and that is in a gravel parking lot with a HIKE to the stadium. Don't get me started on the cost of beer/soda in the stadium and I don't believe I can get free water there. (They'd be happy to point me to a bottled water vendor or the restrooms with their lukewarm water.)
Point is, you get ripped off on vacation. Heck, you get ripped off driving down the turnpike. Gas is always more expensive on the turnpike.
I'm quite sure that the powers-that-be have heard about the water complaint by now. Heck, folks might have actually taken the time to stop by Guest Services to complain. Kinzel (et al) will either react to it or they won't. If they don't, pack for your next trip with that in mind...or just don't go anymore.
I'm not sure what else you or anyone else can do at this point.
"You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world...but it requires people to make the dreams a reality."
-Walt Disney
Sure you get ripped off while on vacation, but there is a differance between high prices and scalping. You expect high prices, but this is beyond what I have seen at any amusement parks I have been to.
You go on vacation to enjoy youself, and when you get taken advantage of, you will remember that sometimes more than the good times you may have had.
I do spend my money in other places than cedarpoint. I go to busch gardens, Disney, six flags, dollywood, knobles.....ect...ect.
And at all of these places, I feel that I get my money worth(except maybe some things at six flags), and have no problem buying food or drinks because it is actualy good, and the prices are somewhat resonable. We went to bush gardens a few weeks ago, and spent $50 total on food and drinks for 2 adults and a child for the day. That was for our dinner, lunch and a snack. I would spend 3 times that much at cedarpoint for crappy food. We went to knobles and I spent $6 on a huge gyro, fries and a soda.
If you spent $20 to park, that is your fault. If you look around, you can find deals on parking. I go to quite a few detroit tigers games, and park for free at a bar&grill a few miles from the stadium. They have round trip shuttle to and from the game for $3 per person, and you can drink a $3 beer on the bus as well. There are several other bars in detroit doing the same thing as well. If you just look hard enough or look online, you can find all kinds of alternatives.
Gas is more expensive on the turnpike, that's why I don't get it on there if I can help it.
Like I said, I will continue to go to the park because I enjoy the rides....I just don't spend my money there anymore.

Now that I've seen that, wow, how can anyone seriously be OK with that. To quote the Venture Bros., "Dick move, Phantom Limb!"
When the parks are bleeding attendance and revenue, economy or not, this seems a lot like kicking your customer who is already poor in the nuts. I'd be embarrassed to run a business like this.

^ I agree, Can they really kick us harder in our nuts? But If you take in a personal water bottle and ask them to fill it with water they will. I do it all the time. But that is a really small cup of water and I too would be embarrassed if i were running a business lake that.
