I bought the "Magnum moving to MiA" rumor somehow when I first got interested in amusement parks, and even went to tell my ex-girlfriend's dad about it.
Woof. Though some of me gets excited by propagating said rumors when I hear them in line just for fun when it is safe. I cannot stand when people ask "am I gonna die?", what do they expect me to say?! "Well, yeah, but not anytime soon hopefully!"?
By far the most annoying one is when the couples say that the other one isn't tall enough and ducks under the height stick.

The wife and I went to Halloweekends on Friday, 10/1. We were standing in line for Cornstalkers, and came up to one of the tables where they sell towels, beach lockers, and ponchos. The sign was still on the empty table, and the teenage girl in line in front of us looked at her mom and said "Why would you need a poncho in Cornstalkers?" Her mother gave her the "Did you really just ask that?" look, and we all started laughing, at which point she remembered what the line is used for the rest of the season. Was one of the highlights of our evening.
While waiting in line for Top Thrill Dragster 2 weekends ago, I overheard a blonde girl explaining that a "normal top fuel dragster might make it to 225 miles an hour, but this is way faster than that".
I don't know where she got the number 225, but that sign that talks about how much faster a top fuel dragster is must have made her look real smart.
For the rest of the day, Top Thrill Dragster was 840 feet tall, a mile and half long, powered by a nuclear reactor and capable of reaching 240 miles an hour in under 2 seconds.
So, standing in line for Power Tower this past Sat. night, I hear this girl tell her bf that they took the Demon Drop down because some girl lost her legs on it by them getting cut off by a wire.......I soooo wanted to ask her how that was possible when your legs aren't dangling in the air but somewhat enclosed on the ride....ha ha! Oh, and the other Demon Drop one - some rich guy bought it and has it in his backyard - LOL! I also overheard one of the girls at the exit gate talking to another employee about how this guy told her he rode the MF 27 times and the Maverick 10 by noon on Saturday - uhm, I was lucky to ride MF and TTD once before the park opened to everyone! I'm no expert on coasters and CP is the only park we frequent but I do find it funny when I hear really stupid things!

I heard someone say that Top Thrill Dragster was going to move to Michigans Adventure so they could make a taller and faster version. It was these two kids saying that in line for Maverick.
That can't be true because a few weekes ago I was told it was moving to King's Island. It is going to replace SOB next year! Sometimes people are so messed up with their stories. :)
Let's Get Weird.
People always look at me like I'm crazy when I point out that we're in the White Water Landing station while in line for Maverick. They also don't understand what I mean when I point out the piece of the remaing flume that spills water into the pond.
One guy this season approached me asking where the Maxim 2000 was.
It was so hard to not laugh in his face. Through stifled giggles I said "you mean the magnum XL 200?" made my day.
