Hey, it could be worse. They could be Detroit.
I think that's our slogan.

Somebody suggested that Cedar Point would be removing the Mistake on the Lake, and as a lifelong Columbus resident, I ran with it. Sorry... :)

I'll get us back on topic.
My opinion on the possibilities:
Top spin? I hope not. I don't see anything special when it comes to that, even if they add a water element. Now if it was a SpinScraper (cross a Top Spin and the Skyscraper in Challenge Park), that would be interesting...and you wouldn't have to pay extra to ride it because it has enough seats to be a normal attraction. At the same time, however, I feel that I would rather have that at Kings Island, replacing The Crypt.
Topple Tower: No. Two major swing attractions are enough (Maxair and Skyhawk). Besides, there is a high maintenance concern. And topple towers aren't as intense as the normal swings (based on Dollywood's ride). The same goes for Disk-os, Topple Disk-os, Ferris wheel on a swing, etc)
Relocate Wicked Twister...who said that? Why would they consider that? Besides, I think the WT and the Wheel go together in the CP skyline, and the location is nice. If they moved one to the DD site, they would have to move both.

The next Intamin...be careful what you wish for! Look at the delays with Shoot the Rapids! At Kings Dominion, they needed to put trim brakes on Intimidator 305. The Xcelerator at Knott's Berry Farm did in 2009 what TTD did in 2004. Kenny Loggins and Kevin Bacon may be banned from Intamin drop towers. Remember the issues with Maverick? It did ultimately turn out well, but still, the Intamin Curse is alive and well.
Still, I like the idea of a ZacSpin. It is a variant of the 4D coaster (and Intamin isn't the only one with problems..blame the rule of new design) and looks compact enough while still adding to the coaster count.

The idea of a 300 foot woodie...currently a hyperbole. Still, I would like to see the "Real Son of Beast" rise in 2012, a coaster that exceeds the height and speed of SoB, possibly has a loop, and is built properly. RCCA used cheap wood and bad designs for SoB. They went under (obviously), and they don't even have a Wikipedia page.
Part of my desire for the RSoB is the fact that I never had a chance to ride the existing SoB. It's made worse that it was shut down and taken off the map (on its 10th anniversary, no less) when it did nothing wrong, nothing to deserve it. And based on these videos, I am somewhat convinced that Mean Streak is rougher overall than Son of Beast (part of it having to do with a shorter duration for SoB due to higher speeds, plus Mean Streak's ending and SoB after the former loop spot).
Anyway, save the woodie talk for 2012. Besides, 2012 is the "end of the world" year, and I would like the ride to lives up to the "prophecy" (in thrills, of course, not roughness).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyway, I do hope its a new coaster. SFMM is challenging us again (though the Mr. Six delay may throw things off there). Also, we are due for a new one, given the hiatus. At the same time, however, I would like to see an eventual parking garage so more land could be freed for rides/attractions.
I see you're new here...
Welcome. You'll find that threads quite often go off topic. Sometimes they meander back, other times they don't. That's the nature of web discussions, really, and we leave it up to the moderators to decide when it's time to kill a thread, or put it back on track. Creating the other thread is fine, though I wouldn't hold your breath on it solving thread creep here.

Especially when you consider the number of creeps that live in and around both the Cleveland and Detroit areas. Heck, Detroit keeps voting them into office. And do I even need to start on Richard Bernstein?
