How is Woodstock Express a cookie cutter coaster? The Flying Unicorn (or whatever it is now) came after it. Raptor has a clone or two somewhere in Europe, does that make it a cookie cutter coaster?

Vekoma has made 19 roller coasters that are identical to Woodstock.
Vekoma's website even refers to it as one of their "biggest selling products".
Despite minor variations in supports and trains, the Vekoma Junior Coaster is one of the most common kiddie coasters out there. So calling them "cookie cutter" is pretty accurate and not necessarily negative. Most kiddie coasters aren't out to innovate, just to provide a park with a mildly thrilling coaster for kids.

* I know it has a twist, but it's more less the same as any other impuse coaster. And disaster is a cookie cutter that's just inside a building. It has the same layout as the bobsled at Darion lake.
Darien Lake doesn't have a bobsled coaster...

Maybe he meant Alpine Bobsled at Great Escape. It has the same layout as DT, and so does La Vibora too. In fact, I think that design is the most used by Intamin. Might be the only design for their bobsleds.
Yesterday I was trying to figure out if La Vibora had the same layout as DT. Guess I should have just asked you!
Actually I think I may be a little wrong on that. The two bobsleds I mentioned have the same layout as DT for the most part. There is one element that is different from what I can see. Id compare more with a side by sideside but all I have in front of me is my cell, no computer.
I feel that La Vibora is just a slightly different layout that Disaster Transport. La Vibora feels a little more compact. I don't know if that is just me because of the compact bobsleds, or that it actually is. According to RCDB, DT is about 500' longer than La Vibora.
DT is going to be a bit longer because it has that helix just before the final block. La Vibora and Alpine Bobsled do not have that helix, this is the only difference.
You're lucky Crazy Horse to have family in California to visit....that you DO visit. I too have family in California and they just so happen to be smack dab in between Knotts and MM. Do we visit them? Only in my dreams.:)
I would love nothing more than to visit MM (and Knotts) to get on those rides. Ever since Tatsu was built and reviews of the park got better due to new management, I've wanted to get to that park more than any park in the US. I can say that my once clouded CP fanboy judgment has diminished ever since I started branching out to other parks.
So I'm not really upset that CP is "losing" the title of most coasters. As long as CP has MF, Maverick, Magnum, and Dragster, it'll still be my all time fav place to be.

Book a flight, Adam. Its worth the money to travel out to those two parks. You can find very cheap flights certain times of the year. And if you don’t have the time, nothing says Magic Mountain can't be a day trip. Of course I have never done something crazy like that for a coaster trip;)
There is nothing wrong with that either. Or a day trip to Vegas:)
Yeah, just get on a plane and go Adam. Airfare from DTW to LAX roundtrip is somewhere around $200 depending on what days of the week you go on. It's worth going :)
Honestly, I'd only go if I could work it in with my aunt who lives down there (with her rich husband who owns a house in Hawaii and never invites anyone to it). Otherwise, I would go if I had some people I knew who could make a commitment out of it. It will happen one year. This year however, I need to make it essential to NOT miss HHN in Orlando. Last year, I was sooooo close to flying down there, taking a cab to the park, go to the event, go back to the airport, and fly home in the morning. It was a last minute plan which would have cost over $400. Needless to say I had to sit last year out (and I REALLY didn't want to).

That's more or less the plan I'm looking at for HHN this year, although I may spring for a hotel depending on what kind of flight times I can get. Now I just have to not use up all my vacation days before October...
You both need to make the trip down to HHN, you guys would love it. I will be making my annual trip again, we should all meet up.
The people on FB are ridiculous. They are all mad CP isn't getting a coaster this year over 500 feet. They seem to be very ignorant to the fact of a budget. CP can't get a coaster every year.

Ive made it to HHN twice (2007 & 2009) and I fell in love with that event. And we 3 should totally plan somekind of meetup. I will be planning this years trip WAY in advance with another friend (another fellow buzzer) to ensure the cheapest airfare.
