^ I believe after the inspection there is an additional one week, mandatory, delay so that Sandor and Kinzel can ride it together ala Tunnel of Love.
Now it sounds more like a joke.

Does that state still pass out "sticker permits" that guest can see? I notice Skyhawk's still has last years '09 sticker. I thought that was kind of odd.

It was a joke. Some bad intamin/delay humor, sorry.
Now that you've edited it, it sounds more like a joke.

According to the Ohio Revised Code Sec. 1711.53(A)(3)--
The director shall issue with each permit a decal indicating that the amusement ride has been issued the permit. The owner of the amusement ride shall affix the decal on the ride at a location where the decal is easily visible to the patrons of the ride. A copy of the permit shall be kept on file at the same address as the location of the amusement ride identified on the permit, and shall be made available for inspection, upon reasonable demand, by any person. An owner may operate an amusement ride prior to obtaining a permit, provided that the operation is for the purpose of testing the amusement ride or training amusement ride operators and other employees of the owner and the amusement ride is not open to the public.
I'd say that suggests that if it bothers you, you could go to the operations office and ask to see the permit. The permit is the important part; the decal merely indicates that the permit has been issued.

Anyone been to the park in the past two days or so to see if they are still testing? The ride was inspected on Tuesday wasn't it?Once it's inspected can't they open?
Assuming it passes.
It tested all day on Sunday, with employees riding several times, then it was completely off on Monday. Two boats on the first lift all day, no rapids.

I notaced that none of the rides have 2010 stickers this year.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Of course there is. They need time for the blood tests and to give each party (CP & Intamin, in this case) time to change their minds. :)
This Isn't A Hospital--It's An Insane Asylum!
From what I hear, the department of AG was there today. Also, they had an employee ride night last night.
They indeed were at the park today. Saw their vehicles parked over by the Engine House this morning.
Hopefully this means that soon Tony & Tyler will post something on the on-point blog on when Shoot the Rapids will for sure open. :)
I e-mailed the Red Cross today. They said they just found out late morning today that the Auction Ride will not be able to be scheduled this Saturday.
So, that probably means it won't be running this weekend. I'm curious to see what they tell us (if anything) at CoasterMania! this weekend.

I'd complain, but, you know, the world isn't ending. So...no big deal!
Kudos to Intamin! Hope they make a butt load off this sale!
<sarcasm>
What stinks for me is that I have to keep telling my kids that it won't be ready. They have watched them build it everyday and were ready to ride it on the 15th. Do you all know how hard it is to explain this to kids?It really is getting old.
No coaster will ever be too fast or too tall!
[url][url]They did just confirm, via a reply on their facebook that it will not be open for CoasterMania!
Kind of makes you think there is a little bit more going on, yet again, than just the state needing to sign off.
Try explaining it to them when you're standing in front of it and they are crying because they want to ride a broken ride. I just finished explaining to them on the phone I would not be taking them with me in a few hours and that was almost worse. Oh well, Cedar Point is missing out on their ticket money today.

I dunno... seems like a good lesson for kids, in my opinion.

@Walleye & Prawo: I've been itching to take my 4 year old ever since the height requirement came out. He knows all about the ride, and asks when he can go a lot. I just tell him there is a lot of time left in the season, no big deal, he'll have plenty of chances to get on.
Then I get on here and scream what a big deal it is, LOL

I agree. In my opinion, there are a lot more kids today who are very spoiled. Everything is instant gratification. Knowing you can't always have everything when you want it is a very good lesson to learn. Otherwise they grow up with an entitlement complex. I've been trying to instill some of this into my nieces and nephews.
They were disappointed that they couldn't ride. But, they weren't mad. They had plenty of other stuff to ride and they had a good time doing it.
