Shoot The Rapids looks amazing. They did a really good job with the themeing. I noticed the tunnel is not fully enclosed.

100% agree, the theming does look beautiful and makes you think "now that's a water ride!"

I can't wait to hop on this bad boy when it is open!

As one who complained about the water cannons, I am now about to profess my ignorance. For some reason I always thought of them as more of a water gun type....something like Dollywood's River Battle ride has. After seeing the video Walt posted, I realize how incorrect my assumption was.

That being said, the ride looks really good. I can't wait to see the splash a fully loaded boat will make.

The real cherry on top would be a height requirement at or under 44"

^I highly doubt it will be that low.

I'm guessing 46" at least. It will probably be 48 however. If it's anything over 48, I don't think I would call this much of a family ride.

Looking at the photos, my daughter just asked;

-What is going to keep the guest from walking from the exit line, back into the entrance line at the rail road tracks?

Any suggestions, of how to stop that from happening?

GATEKEEPER-I came, I rode, I was mildly disappointed; until a second ride (rear left) put GateKeeper back on the...it's a nice ride list.

Other people?

I stopped to look at STR this weekend, and saw how the RR tracks blocked the line entrance from the queue area. I guess you have to stop and wait for the train to go by behind the gates.

Imagine going by on the train and waving to everyone in swim suits standing in line......

Well which side of the tracks does the actual entrance start on? And by actual entrance I mean where the height stand and employee will be, not where the 'StR' sign is at.

The entrance and queues are before the tracks. Then just before the final approach to the station you cross over the tracks. The tracks themselves do create a "gap" between the entrance and exit paths. Since someone will have to be there to operate the gates, I suspect they'll be charged with watching for line jumpers.

Is Buck Skinner the price of fur guy?

If so, they did show a pic of him in a blog post so he may still be there...

I wouldn't be surprised to see him integrated into STR in some form. Although I also wouldn't be surprised if he eventually shows back up around PWE or if he disappears completely.

I guess I should be more specific on how to enter through the exit line.

So you just get off the ride, walk down the stairs and a train is coming. The gates go down, and the over flow area of the exit runs into to entrance line on the same side.

Now, no one on the frontier trail side of the train can keep anyone from the exit line from sliding over behind everyone in the entrance line.

I haven't seen it in person yet, so maybe there is a fence in the way.

But from the photos it looks like anyone on the exit stairs can just walk over to the entrance line while a train is going past.

I'm sure they will have an employee sitting there.

And I'd bet that circumnavigating the RR gates would be plenty enough reason to remove someone from the park.

If you look through the pictures of opening day on ThePointOL.com there are 2 close up pictures of the railroad gate. The exit has a wide area for folks to cue when the gates are down. The gates are fairly close to the fence preventing folks from squeezing through to the two different entry paths. Also note the the special entry path is between the exit and normal entry path thus making it even more difficult to squeeze from one line to another.

Correction, I found those 2 images of the crossing on Pointpixels.com, opening day pictures.....

jo linn, thanks, I see that it looks virtually imposible to squeeze between the gates near the exit, to get to the entrance line, when the train gates are down, now. :)

CP thought of everything. :)

Except for a height requirement.

I haven't even told my four year old son about the new ride because I don't want to get his hopes up. He is just over 43 inches with shoes. If he could ride the new one, that would be icing on the cake. My two year old daughter is less than a half inch below 36 inches with shoes. Poor thing is going to have to wait another season before she can ride Jr Gemini and Woodstock Express. She is mimicking roller coaster photos and videos of people holding their hands up! Having worked at Cedar Point, I would never enhance my children's height by stuffing their shoes, but now that I have kids, I understand the temptation. I guess it can be a valuable lesson for the kids that we don't get everything we want.

Thats the reason I have been taking my daughter to six flags quite often. She is able to get on soooo much more there. She is at 43 inches right now, and the only coasters she can ride at cedar point are the 2 kiddie coasters. At six flags, she can ride a few of the larger coasters, and the kiddie coasters.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

From what I hear the water was drained out and workers were working on everything but the boats yesterday.

Boy, do I hope the ride opens on time.:(
