That's why you have a trigger on you that if they should do so, you press the trigger that gives them a jolt of electricity equivalent to a taser. :)

Yeah, not a fan either. Of all the things in CP to price reasonably, they choose on of the most annoying? Lame.

There's a simple solution here mike. Hire some goons to stand in front of the canon stations and keep the gp away while you ride. SIMPLE!!! :)
Oh, great. Now I have to carry goons with me. Do you know how hard it is to keep track of a posse? ;)

I recall being at Geauga Lake in the cooler months and the cannons were not working. I suppose they could have been broke. But, I assume that in cooler weather, they can/will turn them off.

perhaps they should sell prophylactics prior to the ride for all these weenies.....
I am reminded of the sponge ball factory at Valley Fair, watching some parents getting pissed off when they get bonked in the face with a sponge ball, went the entire room is nothing but guns that shoot sponge balls... have a little fun...
:) Best comment in this thread!
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I agree with Mike and others on the water cannons. Even on the hottest of days I'm not sure I care to get blasted in the head by some teenager that is gonna think its hilarious.
Definitely not a fan....

^ Then don't ride?
I don't think it is going to be coming with the knock out power of Ray Lewis anyways, it will probably be closer to a mist. Loud bang, gravity takes effect, it showers down on you...
I think it's safe to say that there is some kind of median amount of wetness that people will want from this ride, and to the extent that the effects are adjustable, changes will be made so that the ride arcs toward that median.
That being said, I view the off-ride cannons as a slight negative for me, and I'm in agreement with DJ's comment noting the irony of this being the only reasonably priced service in the park - kind of a Monkey's Paw twist, huh?
The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.
Someone be sure to get good pics tomorrow of STR. Hopefully they'll be testing the boats that were already modified.
Wow, all this negativity for water cannons? First of all, you all knew they were coming and these things will NOT soak you. You will get a light little spray.
^ Amen. People complaining that the cannons are anything from too powerful to, too cheap, give me a break.
I think a lot of people aren't going to care too much about getting splashed from the canyons especially if they've already been on a water ride such as Thunder Canyon or Snake River Falls. Some people might be laughing about getting splashed from the canyons. And what I mean is the people on the boats would be laughing.
Who's going to care about getting blasted by a water cannon when you are riding Snake River Falls X 2.
This ride is not the relaxing flume ride that we can enjoy with the WHOLE family that we all wanted. Boo hoo! Waaahhh!

I am still a bit perplexed by the large empty area in the middle of the island pool ( where the rendering showed a wooded island) and by the large slab of concrete on the pool side of the island rock area....
Since almost every single detail of the renderings ended up in the final design I am suggesting that the wooded island had been planned but was deleted in an attempt to meet the deadline...any thoughts?
I am aware that a tall fountain shoots out of that slab , but that is tucked in the corner...
Somehow, the still (which i assume is under that shack next to the island pumphouse is a bit out of place where it is at, and that an illegal still would have made more sense tucked on a wooded island. Who builds an illegal still right next to a large building?
It just seems that the view of the island from the PWE is a bit lack luster...
Thanks to the railroad that is going to play so well into the enjoyment of this corner of the property finally. heritage ride.
I don't think the negativity is unwarranted about the wetness. As already said, I wanted this to be the WWL replacement boat ride that I'd be able to happily ride any time without consequences...another essential ride for each visit. But, the layout of the ride looks kind of boring, so I'm thinking that the water effects play a large role in the thrill...meaning, these aren't going to be Iron Dragon misters...
My favorite rides on WWL were those late night rides right before close. The wetness from StR is not certain until it officially opens, but I doubt that CP is going to shut off all the effects and canons after 8PM each night. That means you could potentially get soaked right before leaving for the night. With the thought of sticky wet jeans and shirts, that damp smell, and constantly uncomfortable temperatures with climate control, I'll have to pass on the night rides.
And if this gets too wet, I may have to pass altogether. I was about 9 years old when Snake River Falls opened, and I was SO excited that whole offseason for it. We ran there the first trip of the year in May, got on the first boat, and rode it, thinking we'd get lightly wet like WWL.
It was a cool day, and the wetness from that ride ruined most of that visit. I was cold and shivering, my new shoes were ruined with a forever mildewy smell, my clothes were all stretched out from trying to ring them all day, and you can think of yourself as a rag at CP with drenched clothes...dirt just sticks to you. My socks never dried out that whole day.
That would have been the last time I ever rode SRF. However, my sister and I were having such an awful visit at CP one time (very long lines, cold weather, rain, lots of down rides), that we decided to laugh at the whole experience and try to make it more awful. So, we lapped SRF & Thunder Canyon and rode all the spinny rides like witches wheel that we said we'd never ride. We were sick, miserable, and wet as can be, but we turned that awful trip into one of the funniest memories to look back on. Anyway, that was my last time on SRF...about 10 years ago. I really hope StR isn't something I'm going to ride a couple times in my life. :-/
