My mistake. I don't think Disney has the exact same thing, but I believe they have something where onlookers can spray riders... not sure though.
Looks just as good as the Artist rendering. The way everything of Shoot the Rapids is coming to life, it just brings to life that animation that we all watched when Shoot the Rapids was announced. I'll for sure be bringing my camera this year. :)
The boat is gone.
Pepsi Refresh is saving one coaster at a time: http://pep.si/bTTsfc
In the 4pm hour it looked like they were cycling two boats back and forth in the station. Close to 5pm the same image kept refreshing. When I got home I noticed the STR cam is down.
My educated guess is that STR boat(s) have made their maiden voyage around the course.
I would imagine the lawyers might encourage the cam to be off during the initial testing of boats down the hills. I can also understand them wanting to dial it in without the scrutiny of the general public.
Damn!
Here is some action from today... The boat rests at the exact spot once the action continues after the lapse. However, the restraints are in slightly different positions.

It also looks like you can see 2 levels of spraying at the bottom of the second splashdown... but it could just be a result of testing the pumps separately or something else completely.
nice freakin time lapse....fabulous work! THANKS!
There does seems to be some sort of low level cross spray going on out of that slot in the side of the rocks just above water level at the base of the final drop.
Perhaps combined with the water flowing down the hill this adds to the watery illusion while keeping it not spraying on you.

Technically right now, they don't "need" to promote any kind of future attraction. They're still focusing on STR for this year. Of course, that doesn't go without saying that we very well will or will not not see activity (survey markers) later this season for a future project. I DO think that IF there's anything major (in terms of coasters) planned for 2011 or 2012, we should see some kind of indication at some point this season. We just have to do what we do poorly, be patient. ;)
And speaking of STR, it's looking VERY nice so far. I'm loving the rustic look of the pump house and station and I hope (though I'm more or less sure) more theming is added on the island portion....be it fences or landscaping. Great job so far CP, this is looking to be a great addition.

Kings Island's White Water CAnyon's water bombs are 25 cents. My cousin and I spent like $20 at them in one day. It was definitely worth it.

^ Plus Adam they have to worry about paying off some debt this year so they probably aren't worried about 2011 for any of the parks right now.
Webcam "going down" is a good sign! :)
Couldn't they at least play some nice relaxing music while they have us on hold like this......darn you Cedar Point!
That time lapse video from yesterday at least made my day.
The update makes it sound like the webcam is going to be "down" for a little while and eventually relocated to the photo building.
The fact that he says "eventually" and "We'll bring you any important photos or videos..." make it sound like it's not coming back up today.
Remember that it was attached to Snake River which they are currently painting. I would not be surprised that they had to move the camera because of that.
Hopefully it'll be back up at the ride photo building by the beginning of next week. If you saw some of the pictures from yesterday's update, you saw that SRF is still super rusty and in need of a lot of work, so you can be sure that that's what they're doing.
On a completely unrelated note, those of you who are going the the Point today, have fun! Season Pass Processing Center opens at 3pm today, just 4.5 short hours from now!
