I am curious as to how much CP pays per gallon for their water. I can't imagine the cost is insignificant.

STR cam is now back. Is the pool on the mainland empty? It sure looks like it to me...
That makes me a little nervous, I wonder what the point in draining it is.
Obviously a boat flipped up over the rails and into the midway after skipping along the final drop ;)
The whole mainland system appears to be on the whack. Theres absolutely no water in the mainland section, flume or otherwise. Cause for concern?
On the other hand, the storage building and pump houses are getting the rustic treatment still. Looks pretty good.
They were just testing the ride, so it's probably safe to assume adjustments were needed, and those adjustments couldn't be made under water.
Brandon
I find it very hard to believe that they would have turned the cam back on if there was any kind of major problem. Like djDaemon said I'm sure its for adjustments that they had to make after the first tests.
Good call. I'm thinking we can expect more downtime too. Didn't Tony say they would move the cam to the ride-photo building? I'm thinking that time is quickly approaching, so we can expect more agony and frustration while we stare at the webcam pop-up and wait for the STR Cam tab to reappear. ;)
Yeah, adjustments so that no more boats land in the trees!
In all seriousness, lets hope they're not the kind of adjustments that delay it's opening in a mere 17 days!
^ haha! And Dragster's trains aren't even on the track yet! What's up with that? It's about that time they start testing the ride isn't it?
ZOMG!! The waters gone?!! I'm serious startled! ;)
In all seriousness, ya'll act like the water can't be refilled. :) Obviously they tested the ride and, like dj mentioned, tweaks need to be made. There's no conspiracy going on here regarding the disappearance of water and the reappearance of the cam. Just 2 more weeks people....just 2 weeks. :)

I don't think this is a reason to panic, but it does make me wonder how they drain the splash pools. I assume there would be drain made into the pool and the obvious choice is to drain into the lagoon, right?
I think Dj makes a good point on the cost of draining and refilling...its probably something that they want to avoid if possible.
Nick
No, the water in this ride is chlorinated. They cannot dump it into the lagoon, or they'd be in a LOT of trouble.
I'd presume it operates much like your bathtub at home, only massive. City water supply, city water drain.
Brandon
If I had to guess, I would say the reason why the drained the main land pool is so they could put up the roof on the tunnel, and possibly add a ledge on the inside to make the interior completely dark... and to add a few moonshine/white lightning jugs. ;)
Just my two cents.
My experience with roofing is limited, but I don't think putting the roof on the tunnel would require anyone to be inside....
Nick
Hate to see over 200,000 gal. of city water wasted but it looks like they cleaned the stains that were in the pond under the camera. The 2 areas by the exit walkway had nasty dark stains under the water and now the stain on the right side of the view looks to be gone, and the one on the left side is still wet.

Anyone think that it was drained to test their draining system? Wouldn't want to get to November 1st and find out the drain pumps don't work and you have to find a way to get rid of the water.
