Doesn't this mean that the queue will have to stop at some point to allow the train to pass? That doesn't seem very smart.
We know most of that already, actually. The Shoot the Rapids entrance can be seen in the last photo of this set. The view from the Trail will be as depicted in the last image of this set. The queue will, as noted above, be situated in the area between SRF and Frontier Trail (2nd photo of this set), and the line will go up & over the RR tracks, then to the station.

I am aware where the tracks cut through.... my curiosity lies in the landscaping and viewing area as well as whether or not the train will be thematically connected to the moonshine / hillbilly theme as it rounds that corner of the lagoon.
I think the train is already as thematically connected to StR as it will ever be, simply because the respective era's are relatively close together. But who knows, CP might surprise us, though I wouldn't bet money on it.

You can see in the latest batch of pictures that the new photo booth will be immediately next to the tracks ( you can see a couple of railroad ties in the bottom right corner of pictures 11 of 13.
You can also see in the artists rendering the the entry/exit ramps are clearly shown ending at a concrete pad at ground level....indicating a track level crossing as apposed to going over the train as was mentioned earlier.... let alone that any crossing above the train would expose those using it to the plume of coal exhaust.
^I think we've been over this before. The artist's renderings aren't entirely accurate, and while the main details (such as where the track is) are accurate, the smaller details that enthusiasts care about (track supports, queue lines, etc.) are there, but not entirely accurate. Your point on the smoke is noted, however it will not become an issue as the smoke would only hit the bottom of the bridge, not the people on it. Perhaps they will tell everyone to hold their breath? :)
In my opinion, Cedar Point would not be stupid enough to have the queue cross directly onto the tracks. There would be a bridge (such as the one at Kings Island) or a tunnel (not gonna happen.) But then again, I've been wrong before....
RideWarrior is correct - the rendering isn't accurate about a lot of the details (I mean, if it were, no one would even be able to ride this thing, since, according to the rendering, the aforementioned line ends at the RR tracks, but I digress...).
Besides, CP has already mentioned that the line will go up-and-over the tracks. They already tried having a ride's line go across the tracks, and it didn't work out very well.
Brandon
I recall it being speculated on but not a CP official posting it....If you have a link to this i would be interested in seeing it.
I believe it was mentioned in this very thread. If not, look through StR-related OnPoint! blogs. Seek and you shall find.

Why would they have the exit line cross the tracks rather than go over them? For safety, all crossings must be manned, which means that's 1 more position CP would have to pay for.
On top of that, they've tried the "train cuts through the queue" thing before with Mantis and scrapped it after a few seasons. Its just not an efficient way to set up a ride queue.
I wouldn't be surprised to see a short tunnel extending 10-15 feet on either side of the bridge, but even if there is none, the momentary whiff of coal exhaust isn't going to kill anyone. (gee, where have I heard that before?)

Actually, according to this, the line will simply cross the tracks. So, I stand corrected, apparently. Was something said at a later date about a bridge being built there?
Brandon
"Cross the tracks" is pretty generic.
I mean, I cross Perimeter Road after going in the Magnum gate, but that doesn't mean I had to wait for traffic.

Regardless of how it goes, I look forward to any improvement in that corner with respect to the train... crossing under that ugly structure of SRF and then passing that old wooden gate on the left has been an ugly spot in the train ride for some time....
The queue line is located on the "Trail side" of the tracks, next to SRF. Once you've done your "back-and-forth" through the queue, you'll cross the tracks. Upon exit, you'll cross the tracks at the same place, but you'll go up and over the flume before doing so.
There are reasons why we didn't put a bridge up and over the train tracks, but I won't discuss them here.
Not having a bridge also means that we can have Special Access to the ride for all guests.
Any other questions that I may or may not be able to answer? ;)

... a "plan view" of all water bombs and drunken hillbillies with guns would be much appreciated.....
Interesting Tony. I too would like to hear the reasons but completely understand not discussing them in such an open forum.
