So then does that mean that the boats will actually be powered by oompa loompas? :)

If you are wise you'll listen to Tony....
We'll get our look in the tunnel eventually. :)
I can only guess that all this current earth work is to facilitate all the trades that need to get close while the main pool is tied up and or being poured......
I just hope the effects will stay turned on and not be turned off after a week like Maverick's tunnel.
Let's Get Weird.
I know it's getting redundant, but man look at all that progress! Station, initial flume, area around station, the final drop, and I'm sure loads of preperation under the station.
Nice weather is paying huge dividends.

Just in case we didn't mention it before, the mist was eliminated due to safety concerns, not because we just didn't want them on. It was cool, but not at the expense of guest safety.

It appears that they have inverted the roof framing for the roof cupola as compared to the artists rendering...?
Correction.
The artist inverted the roof cupola as compared to the plans he was given.
Goodbye MrScott
John
Correction.......it's a darn art rendering AND we've been through this.:)

Yes, I know Tony I was just saying. I guess I still hold a little grudge for not being able to ride it with the mist. ;)
Let's Get Weird.
I have not been following the construction as much as I would like to, but have a few questions.
1. Have they set a height restriction yet?
2. How deep is the water in the splash pool?
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
1. We wont now that till after testing....unless we're just not being told. :)
2.By the looks of it, about 2 ft

I searched through threads, but what exactly was the safety concern with Maverick's mist tunnel? People said it added a lot to the ride, so why couldn't CP come up with a solution?
I know CP is not Disney, but it seems like CP's solution to any kind of theming conflict is "remove it" rather than "let's make it work."
I think they said something about it setting off the fire alarms and if a ride op needed to manually launch a train out of the tunnel it was hard to see....Or some bull crap like that.

Both of those issues should have been easy to work around. Judging by CP's history, it has more to do with the cost of maintenance or lack of funding for this type of thing. It's a shame though, as the attention to details are really what make a great experience stand out from a good or decent one.
That's why I don't have a whole lot of confidence for StR in the theming department. Or, if it's cool on opening weekend, issues will emerge with the theming, and it'll be eliminated for one reason or another.
I mean, look at the Crypt at King's Island. That was a really cool experience when it was Tomb Raider back in the day. Now, it's a ferris wheel inside a garage. The details made that ride.
