I'm confused with the steel on this ride. I know the renderings aren't 100% accurate, but the supports on the webcam and the supports on the renderings look completely different (i.e. The webcam support is a typical A support but the supports in the renderings are upside down
As all connecting at a central point at the base). I wonder what is really going on, and are the supports going to take up more space than originally projected?
Guests don't care about the supports. CP and Intamin don't either, so long as the ride doesn't fall over. Maybe the animation was created using earlier designs. Perhaps Badnitrus realized that it didn't matter whether the supports were accurate.
Either way, I'm not sure it matters a whole lot.

My only concern was I saw that structural integrity of the supports in the renderings, and it was perfect as I know CP wants to continue to run the Paddlewheel Excursions around the island. The A-Frame system (as far as I'm aware) doesn't allow that room for these big boats to move under STR.
However, I completely understand your point DJ, the average guest doesn't scrutinize every single detail, and probably won't even notice/remember the discrepency between the renderings and the actual thing. I would have thought that they would have been somewhat accurate for the ride strucutre, not just the layout.
I guess they just changed the plans, or whatever, as long as I can ride it in June I'm good.
EC09: Could be. I guess we can't fret over it though, its just a minor detail, and as DJ said, as long as it doesn't fall down, it really doesn't matter.
To be fair, I noticed the discrepancy as well. I'm always interested in even the most mundane aspects to almost any construction project, and really, I've been more interested in the construction of the sea-ment pond than in the above-ground ride structure.
Corey, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not, but if you're not... I don't think there's any way to tell from the rendering whether those supports would have been feasible.

DJ: Glad I'm not insane. Thanks for the help. And I'm glad I'm not the only one who has noticed the formation of Lake Station.
EC09: While you are correct, the results can vary. It vastly depends on how the supports are anchored into the ground and attached to the strucutre, but yes, in general, M supports are more structurally sound, because they have more contact points with the ground.
