Oh, the excitement mounts! :D

Is it just me, or are the webcams not refreshing today?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Webcams are working fine, not much happened today, but they go down at 6 PM every night

That's weird.

I have been checking all day, but it's been the same picture and it is not refreshing for me.

Man, this snow just won't let them do any sizable construction, will it?

I know and come Monday it will have been 2 long months since we were told we would start seeing steel go vertical.

Those conditions just look brutal. One day everything is flooded, the next day everything is frozen and covered in snow.

I can only imagine how cold it is out there. It was only a high of 17 here in michigan today.

^High of 16 in the suburbs of Cleveland today. Winds (inland) of 7-14 MPH. I can't imagine how terrible it is out on the lake like that. I applaud them for braving these fierce conditions, but when are they going to put some steel up? Wasn't that supposed to be happening soon?

You can't safely use a crane even in moderate winds, and by the looks of things, the winds out there are more than moderate. Once they get some decent weather, I'm sure they'll commence with steel erection.

In the meantime, they're still busting ass everywhere else on the site, so its not like they're losing time. The vertical construction seems to be a very small part to the overall construction process for this ride.

Exactly - two relatively small hills. Why does everyone seem to be obsessed with the steel going up?

Blasphemy! Watching the ride visually take shape is the whole point. It's not their fault the weather is bad, but it's not our fault for being excited either.

^ I agree.

There is not going to be much.

The first piece of steel is going into place at 9:50 am.

There is no way that is the correct place for that steel support. No way.

Actually, it is. And from working on the Island for the past two years, I know the wind is a lot less calmer then anywhere else. There were nights were the wind would be really strong across the main midway, and on the Island it was a slight breeze.

11 years.

That's one hell of a steep drop then.

What makes you think it's going to be a steep drop. You can't even see the splash pool on the webcam.

The fact that the side with the splash pool has the highest supports on the site.

Both sides have a splash pool. You just can't see the one on the left.
