Yeah, I should've called his mother a name or something...

...and then told him that science is dumb.

Awesome. Thanks Tony. :)

I do believe some lips clashed on this one...perhaps djs lips and tony's ass.

Just an observation.

Uncalled for.

And DJ, if what Zeek said is the area you were talking about, I believe the island site clearing is complete.

Actually, I was talking about the area behind the PWE scenery. That is, the area between that and the Frontier Trail. Looked as if they were removing trees there, and that seems beyond the bounds of the ride's footprint.

ADDED:
Right here

That small area is a water filtration/electrical building that's located right next to the turn onto the lift...

*No sucking up intended* Thank you Tony!

I'm so pumped about this ride. I can't wait for that first, hot day to try it out.

It looks like they have started draining the closed off section of the lagoon. I see a bright green hose on the webcam :)

Well, they're ready anyway. It's been almost 2 hours and the level appears to be the same. From what I understand, the lagoon is only about 4 feet deep.

if thats the hose to drain it....then they will be draining for a while.

djDaemon's avatar

Nah, not necessarily. That hose can connect to a pump that's capable of up to (and possibly beyond) 300 gallons/minute. Looking at the lagoon, I'd say the sequestered section contains somewhere in the neighborhood of 100,000 gallons. Meaning, all the water could be pumped out in less than 6 hours.

Of course, I have no idea if I'm close on the pump's flow rate, but even a 200 GPM pump isn't very expensive, and most construction companies have them.

Who needs a pump? Just throw a garden hose off in there and then draw straws to see who gets to be the lucky one to suck on the other end till the water starts siphoning through...

The rate of drainage will be directly proportional to the number of people asking for free water at the park. Bet the cup size increases for this "event".

^ Well played. Well it hasn't been too warm today and probably won't be for the rest of the year...so not as much free water...looks like we won't be getting STR next year. :)

I wish that was true.

Pretty cool. Should be a great addition. I know I shouldn't have looked at it, but I can't believe the people on facebook. They are so bummed that its not a coaster. Oh well, this should be a hit with everyone.

The fact that most people on the fan sites and some people from the coaster clubs are mad that CP isnt getting a new coaster is funny. CP doesnt need a new coaster every year. I for one am glad that CP is getting a new anything. It shows that CP and CF isnt scared to spend money anymore to draw people.

Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one.

Amen. They now need a good family dark ride before building another coaster.

I heard Chris Lynn was doing slight of hand magic tricks with the new water cups.

Looks like the earth moving equipment has started to show up.

Wonder when they drain that portion of the lagoon how many carp will be left wiggling in the mud. That won't be a pleasant smell!

I wonder if they'll fill it back up on the weekends like they did with the swan boat lake for Maverick.
