It doesn't look that deep in the webcam, but that may be because of the angle or something. I think someone on here said it was 4ft in some areas. It looks like the walls are caving in a bit around it too.

It doesn't look very deep, although I think part of that is due to the excessive sediment that, I am assuming, came from the dams when they were built.
The sediment also seems to be posing a problem with the draining process. Seeing how long it is taking them to get it drained seems to answer the question posed earlier in the thread about refilling it during operating hours...

I would say the problem isn't so much how long it's taking them to drain the lagoon as much as it's how much work it's taking to keep it from refilling. It actually started to get deeper for a while today. I have a feeling that the ground water is seeping in from everywhere. We had a lot of rain last week. Plus, as we know, the water table is quite high here. They are sitting on a lake after all.
I don't think there is any sediment in the lagoon from when they did the damming. I believe what your seeing is simply a build up of silt or sediment over the life of the lagoon. It is quite old after all.

That almost never works...I lost 3 oxen and my dear wife back in 1857 while attempting that... :)

Now there's a dated joke.

At least you didn't try to ford the river. Maybe you should have hired an Indian guide.

No way. I would have had to sell my crop land, and possibly given my kid to the tribe. I'll take my chances without a guide.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
But it's right here in the guide book -- you must hire a Indian guide at the snake river crossing. Oh and hold onto your sets of clothing -- that darn thief likes to steal them in the night.
Also something tells me you're going to get your supplies wet if you try to ford the river. ;)

I just checked out the STR cam and was wondering how the dump trucks are getting back there. I would assume there is access from Perimeter Road? Here is a marked up photo. The red arrows would be the most likely areas to enter with larger vehicles or equipment. The Blue Arrows, I'm not sure 100%. I know some of them can accommodate cars and small trucks. Some may not be access points at all.
The original unmodified photo (12MB) can be downloaded here.
After being at the park yesterday, I got to see where the trucks were coming in and out of the park. I put a red asterisk next to the blue arrow by the train. That's where they are coming in. Here is a photo from inside the park. That's why the train has occasionally been parked over by Mantis on Friday nights when the park opens up. They don't want to have it in the way of the construction vehicles.

I think they are making a new path around where the station and lift hill will be. The land they are adding on the right will be removed on the left +/-

New construction pictures if anyone missed them:
Yes, it looks like it. For some reason though, I thought Tony or someone said there would be an on ride photo on the ride? Is this true or am I dreaming?
