I actually got a "rollback" (slideback?) on Wildebeest earlier this year. We didn't make it up one of the accelerator hills. Where we valleyed there was a zipper in the surrounding net where they let us out and escorted us back to the front of the line. I'm not sure where the other rafts got stopped, but I believe we were the only ones who had to get out and walk back.

it looks like its theme might be a end of a world attraction...imo

Even though I live much closer to Canada's Wonderland, I make the trip to CP at least four times a summer and consider it my home park. Wonderland only has one world class coaster (Behemoth), and even though it's truly fantastic, it's not enough to convince serious coaster lovers to spend the outrageous 55 dollars admission. Most people in this area head to wonderland because they don't know any better, as it's the premiere amusement park in the country (La Ronde, the other major park, is about 11 hours away).
This new attraction is DESPERATELY needed, so even though CP seems to not be getting anything major in the thrill department, it's great news for me and my fellow Ontario residents. Even though there are 12 other coasters besides Behemoth, the 'best' one is a Vekoma clone, and a very painful one at that.

Are there any signs of anything at all that could be coming to the park next year? Nit including the soak city markings.
If I remember correctly, since Maverick's announcement in 2006, if there was going to be a new ride, there have been signs of an announcement pending by this point in the summer....I'm guessing nothing major is coming, and that includes a soak city addition. I'm guessing it's a maintenance year.

It is sad to know that there will not be anything good for next year, but it is a wonderful thing to know that CP will be doing some maintenance. Milleniums lights are in desperate need of fixing along with many other things.
Anyone care to make a list of things that need to be fixed?

How do you know that?

Well I don't know that for sure... But due to the fact that there aren't really any signs of construction markings, or any clues on CP Facebook, on point blog, and twitter. I'd say the chances aren't very high.
Other CF parks that are getting something already have websites up.
And in the past when they do not get BIG attraction, they tend to do a bit more maintenance to the park than on off seasons when a new rude is coming.
Well I for one hate it when rude comes to Cedar Point.
Unless it's Rick Rude, but I think he died.

As Canadianpointkid put it, more rides are essential in Canada but... not really.
The problem is from a rider sense we need them. from a business sense we don't. As you put it the closest alternate Cdn park is 11 hrs away. CP is 7 hrs away. Marine land is not competition. Perhaps someone will drive to Darian Lake but there is not a lot of border crossing for non enthusiasts.
The main people who go to Wonderland are not enthusiasts. They are families and teens who do it for a day a year or locals. They think Behemoth is the biggest coaster in the world and do not see competition as it is far far away.
Wonderland is one of the busiest parks in the world, busier than the point as there is no competition and is in a major urban area. They don't need to sell more tickets. People come regardless. People stand in line for an hour for a waterslide without complaint. People don't know what they are missing, except a few enthusiasts and those who live on the border of US parks.
Wonderland is a gold mine and they don't have to spend money to keep it that way. A regular day looks like a Halloweekend Saturday.
I wish they would put more in as it is a long ride for me to get to Sandusky now.
I'm going out to get some air.
A little off topic, but for any CA Wonderland goers: Is there some room for CW to expand? Or is it landlocked like Knotts?
It used to be in the middle of unused land. Over the last decade suburbia is creeping up around it. I am not sure who owns what. I assume it would have some difficulty expanding because or urban sprawl.
I'm going out to get some air.
Nope, it's waterlocked.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
