Cedar Point 2012

I am on the fence about the dinosaur attraction. I do believe that it will be fun for the family, but CP has a history of record-breaking attractions!

I would really like to see CP be the first park to break the 500ft. barrier.

I am going to SFMM the first week in August rather than CP this year because they didn't get anything thrilling enough for me to drive from Richmond, VA. I am very excited to try out the Zac Spin.

It might be pretty cool for CP to put in a custom record breaking Zac Spin. The only problem would be to try to find a way to increase riders per hour. Maybe Intamin could design a Zac Spin car that has a greater capacity. Actually, this would be really cool! 500ft Zac Spin!!!!!! I love to day dream!

I would love to see a 500 foot coaster too, but It would cost a lot of money (not like they've spent THAT much over the last few years) and I think this recession in the economy is playing a huge setback. Also, it would take up a lot of room depending the coaster.

But honestly, I don't think it's as far fetched as people make it seem. It could happen.

How long does it normally take CP to start making money after they invest in a new coaster?

If they dropped 30+ mil on a coaster in 2012, when do you think they would break even on their investment?

I dont think the Dinos are coming to CP. I really dont. At least not on the island. Think about it. Lets say they put the dinos on the island and set it up like KI does and runs till labor day. Thats cool. But what are they gonna do with all the dinos when it comes time to set up for Terror Island? They'd prob have to move all the dinos some place else. That would seem like a lot of work. And a Dino boat cruise would be neat. Except you would probably have roaring dinosaurs near STR. Idk how that would work out.

The same rumor suggests that Terror Island will be removed too.

Removed from HW? I don't think that makes much sense at all.

if they add dinosaurs alive on millenium island they could have a dinosaur haunted attraction and terror island can use that new path by iron dragon and top thrill or by ocean motion and hurricane hannahs because they would fit together perfectly.

Who would go to CP to look at dinosaurs, let alone pay extra on top of admission to see them? oooooooooh! yawn! They are not getting my money if this comes to the park.

Hell, i've even heard "rumors" of the Platinum Passes being over $200 next year, so they are probably already making everyone pay for it.

Soon they will charge admission to the park, and have to pay to ride each ride also.

Its roller coaster tycoon all over again!! Although, the ECT food prices were always great value:)

And You guys wanted Kinzel out. From what i'm hearing cedar point admission will be raised alot next year.

I don't get it; Screamscape posts the most bizarre and biased rumors I have ever seen and it gets an award for being the "best theme park website". The website reported in 2008 that Cedar Fair might move Perilous Plunge to Cedar Point. There is also the time when it reported that CP might get CAGA's GCI and it would loop around Space Spiral. The website is actually pretty funny to read because it is like US Weekly for theme park goers.

I find it more of a comedy site than a useful site. You do have to give screamscape some credit. Not everything they say is 100% bull-tweety

I think you guys may be looking in the wrong area for next year. Has anyone noticed all the markings all over the east deck (east side of magnum) in Soak City? They are all over the place and it’s clear that Soak City is way overdue for a complete overhaul. My guess is Soak City and Challenge Park for 2012.

If I had to guess, and it's been said before, I would say White Water Kingdom is done, and some slides are being moved around to other parks.

That would only be true if SC's attendance has fallen off a cliff. I doubt that's the case.

It's happened before, and yes it does end up posted. They do no fact checking whatsoever. Which makes sense since in order to fact check, you need to deal with facts in the first place.
