I hope he's actually going to do wonders for CF. Hopefully he's a lot better than Dick. And hopefully he brings us a new coaster next year. (;
The park works on a 5 year plan and pretty much has major attractions set 3 years out (unless they get delayed a year ala Shoot the Rapids).

If memory serves, and it is going back a ways to be sure, I thought that Kinzel had a chance to opt out of Ghostrider when Knott's was purchased but went ahead with it. Maybe I'm wrong.
Now, in this case, the park is not changing hands but leadership. If any manufacturing of a ride has been started then I agree that it is too late to get out of that. But, if it hasn't yet then my guess is that Ouimet could exert a little influence.
If I'm a ride manufacturer and a new Company President (who overseas a bunch of parks and is the next in line CEO) came to me and said, "listen, I'd like to talk to you about holding off on this ride...keeping in mind I will be ordering rides for years to come" then maybe I would be a little bit flexible.
"You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world...but it requires people to make the dreams a reality."
-Walt Disney
But changing plans for next year at this point likely means you will do nothing next year. Doesn't seem like a great way to get out of the gate.

That failed attempt can still be ridden in the warehouse on the beach.
Can someone refresh my memory as to what this pertains?
EDIT: Wait, nevermind. Sorry, I'm a little slow today. DT is still a good ride to me even though the theming is all gone...
And before it was remodeled, Dick took the whole Board on a trip to Disney in Florida, where he went on a litany about the wonders of Space Mountain, and how they could bring something of that caliber to Cedar Point.
Thus, DT was born.
Promoter of fog.
Ha ha. They didn't "take it away." They just got lazy and didn't fix it when it broke. Same old story with Maverick's lights/sounds in the tunnel, Magnum's lights in the tunnel, TTD's speed indicator, and MF's lights (although I believe they recently fixed these). Simply put, CP doesn't usually keep up on theming.
By the way, you type very well for a three month old.
TTD's speed indicator has been working this year and the last couple as far as I can remember.

Mille's lift hill lights work, but are not bright like they were back when the ride was new. I think the reason was that the old lightbulbs burned the light filters or something like that. That is why they switched to new bulbs and it is now not bright.

I hope the same doesn't happen to Windseeker in the future. Also, has anyone seen the ferris wheel this year? That's also looking pretty rough. I remember visiting CP for the first time thinking about how well kept the park was. Am I also the only one noticing the music everywhere (in queues, midways etc.) is quieter?
Maybe Ouimet will turn this around and bring some of that Disney spirit to CP in 2012.
The lights on Giant Wheel are a disgrace. Even if they don't replace bulbs during the season they could at least replace all burned out bulbs during the off season. So many bulbs are burned out that it is starting to look really ghetto.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Uhm, Millennium Force required shouting just to hear my own thoughts last Saturday, and those black speakers in quite a few Midway areas (such as that small bridge near Dragster, on the way to Camp Snoopy) aren't exactly set to "subtle", either. Unless my ears are starting to get really sensitive at the ripe age of 22. ;)
