blacking out on millenium force?

Has anyone noticed suddenly blacking out, as in..you were fine for the longest time but you do it now? I just went to CP again, and everytime I ride certain rides, I black out no matter what. It's kind of ruining the experience and fun I have a CP.

I "black out" when I see the park's profile on the Causeway...

I experienced the same thing. My vision starts to get dark on that first banked hill, but after that I'm fine. I also experience the same thing, though not as bad on the first loop of mantis.

Ditto.

I managed to blackout on Mean Streak once because, I had a rough ride on it one time that it affected me like after the mid-course break run. My friend told me the reason was I was trying to relax while riding, and you can't do that on Mean Streak. I've never had a blackout on Millennium Force. On the first hill and second hill, I get the feeling of flying going down that hill and flying over the second hill.

I almost black out too. I'm all better when it goes back up the hill. Never fully black out. I make sure I'm well hydrated, that helps a lot.

It happens to me on MF in that spot and also on the first loop on Mantis. Not sure why, but I noticed that how hydrated I am affects it.

My one friend, said that he started seeing red stars then blackout while going down the hill, i didn't believe him, but now it seems more believable, it alos happened to him on dragster

My husband blacks out everytime he noticies the price of the water bottles. He goes into a full-arrest when he gets the check for a family of four at the eating establishments!

Yes! Blacker outers unite....I'm so glad I'm not alone

I blacked out right before the first turnaround. I thought that it was from being so nervous going up the hil, to relaxing after the first hill in such a short period of time.

Going through the first over banked turn I almost always have a partial black out. I've never completely blacked out though. I'll have to try that muscle clentch thing next time.

On Magnum I got a horrible leg cramp in my upper left thigh on the outside. Ever since that one cramp I keep getting cramps there now.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Potassium deficiency. Also you should stretch out muscles that give you grief from time to time.

As for blacking out, it's only natural to partially black out between the bottom of the drop and halfway up the overbanked turn. Also it may start again at the bottom of the drop of the overbanked turn. From there it can persist untill half way up the first island hill.

The reason is you are pulling over 4 g's for several seconds at the bottom of the first drop. It reduces as you reach the top, but you start pulling around 4 g's around the first tunnel area. You don't get much blood flow back to your brain untill the train reaches the first island hill.

As for the person who seen red stars, that may be an early sign of health related problems. I'm no doctor, but something smells fishy about that.

I only get the first hill grey-out on rare occasions, but (maybe this isn't healthy) I consider the grey/black-out coming out of the overbank, all through the first ground-turn and into the 2nd hill to be part of the whole Millennium Force experience! :)

I used to black out all the time when I test rode in the morning years ago. I rolled out of bed and was on the ride in 20 minutes on some days. I was very relaxed on the ride . When I'm more alert and not quite so relaxed, I tend to not black out.

I dock at the CP marina. Every morning that I was there I'd use my Joe Cool, go in and ride Millennium a few times. Sometimes I'd be half asleep and starving...but it sure was a great way to wake up. I'm assuming that the lack of food was possibly some of the reason for the grey-outs.

I partially blacked-out halfway up the first turn too.

i've never completely blacked out. but every year when i ride it, it seems to get worse for me. this year i was really dizzy and couldn't really see until near the second tunnel. but hell, it's still fun.

most mf rides in one day : 8

most in a year : 32

total : 147

That's happened to me a lot. I did that on the mantis and raptor too (at the end of the Raptor with the helix)
