magnum or MF now that is a real question.... final anwser magnum
--Chief Wahoo-- The industry numbers are based on a good growing economy. One recession will make all those numbers irrelevant. Yes, a slow down in the economy will drive more people to CP instead of more expensive vacations, but a recession will only draw people who locally live an hour or two away who don't need a room. I am not saying that the resorts will not make money in a recession, but there will be a big advertising campaign to fill many vacant rooms.
Most of these "mistakes" all of you are mentioning ar VERY minor. Like about the signs, I do agree that I liked the characters better, but there signs, are you going to the park to examine signs? No, your going there to ride the rides, eat great (but expensive) food, and have a great time, not look out for all the technacalities (I can't spell!) I am not saying that you can't say that these things (signs, trees, rides, etc.) are mistakes, I am just saying that don't let these "mistakes" ruin your day at the world's best amusement park!
I think the biggest mistake they ever made was those stupid basketballs that they gave out as prizes a couple years ago.
MF definitly! Im sorry but even though it is the tallest coaster...in my opioin there are only a few good things about this coaster..1. the height..2. the speed. Other then that..they could of done so much more with it. After the first drop and the first turn..the rest of the coaster is a fast ride back to the station.
Also..taking out the dark ride and adding another lame resturaunt. OOOPs i called it a helix..dont know why...Got helix on the brain

I am not going to say that CP is recession proof, BUT...the resort hotels have basically filled up every year since Sandcastle was first built, even with the higher than average room rates given the area.
As for the size of the MF station...you all should praise the fact that MF assigns seats. Look at Magnum. Seats go out empty on trains pretty frequently meaning a longer line for everyone else.
But, I know when I am beat and PointMan has found the perfect answer to the thread. Those basketballs were nothing but a pain in the a$$!
MF doesn't have a helix.
Duh MFJUNKIE, obviously they built the platform that way to avoid mass confussion because it's the worlds biggest coaster. It isn't like the cause was the platform was built too small and the effect was that people couldn't wait for the seat they wanted. They knew in advance an I think it is a great system.
I think it is a good idea...cutting down waiting lines, but man is that front seat fun!
The other mistake they made was putting in a TGIFridays in Breakers. They already have one in the Radison. Why couldn't they have put in an Outback Steakhouse or something in Breakers???
I loved the special effects in Magnums tunnels! I remember the first time I rode Magnum and I looked over at the last tunnel right before I got on and you know you see the fog and the lasers. It was just so awsome! I loved those things! Why did they take those off?
Where to start? First, Blue Streaks trains. They had no reason to change the restraints on the trains. Second, the signs. They were such nice signs and gave the rides a nice feel to them.

Ride Statistics:
Magnum: 2
MF: 1
Cedar Fair's Amusement park is the greatest on earth. simple enough eh?
however Cedar Point isn't without mistakes
1 Trim Brakes on Mean Streak!!! WTF!!!
that is all.
I don't think that's a mistake Canadian Guy. Whatever caused them to put those brakes on is the mistake.

Gemini 100: 100
I didn't think when I answered. I want to change to a strong vote for the Blue Streak trains.
Mean Streak basically had to have computer-controlled trim brakes because of the fact that it's a huge woodie. The problem is that the speed is set too low!

A bad day at CP is better than a good day at work.
IMO, Trims on MS

:) Gemini 100 Cheering Section :)
the Thrust-air they're putting in next year. (at least based on the one at PGA and Japan. They look like short boring rides! If CP gets a 300' one or something with a little more substance, then I'll say it isn't a mistake, but for now it's a BIG MISTAKE!
I would say the wooden signs, because when I was little and I went on the Magnum for the first time, I remember seeing that sophisticated-looking space man. That spaceman made me think I was making a big accomplishment!!
Don't worry Red Garter Rob, I didn't forget about "The Great San Francisco Earthquake". But that was removed during the mid 80's. And at the time the Pirate Ride was removed, it was the only Dark Ride there. I miss "Earthquake" too. Too many great childhood memories.
gitting rid of fashination
was a bad call
