Beverage pricing: They're still not listening

crazy horse's avatar

The price was just for a normal drink. Disney drink prices are much cheaper as seen here...

The souvenir cup at cp was even more.

Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.

The gas station I go to is selling pops for $0.89. They are obviously a better run amusement park than Cedar Point and Disney.

LOL :)

Regarding the souvenir cup at CP... It's $9.95, unless you have a PP, in which case you save $2.

With apologies to Tarantino...

VINCENT: Did you just order a six-dollar soft drink?

MIA: Sure did.

VINCENT: A soft drink? Syrup, seltzer, and ice?

MIA: Uh-huh.

VINCENT: It costs six dollars?

MIA: Yep.

VINCENT: You don't put bourbon in it or anything?

CEDAR FAIR EMPLOYEE: Nope.

VINCENT: Just checking.

The path you tread is narrow, and the drop is sheer and very high.

In all fairness to CP, the Disney prices do not state how big the drinks are, I doubt they are 32 oz. The rest of the prices seem in line with CP.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

The $2.19 is for 21 oz, the $2.49 is 32 oz

Regardless, I'd MUCH rather pay $30 less for admission and $3.50 more per pop I got.... I doubt I'd be buying 9 drinks throughout the day.... and if I did, I'd just get a souvenir sup so the total would cost would be $19, still less expensive than Disney.

The parks all make their profit somewhere... some choose higher admission prices, some choose higher drink prices.

But that's the thing. It's NOT just Disney that is cheaper.....It's every other park chain. Even the parks with low priced admission have soda pop for much less than what cedar point is selling it for.

And there is also holiday world.

Right.

I think the reason it is so high because pop is such a huge part of the "per capita" spending that Kinzel and Co. spend their time worshiping. The GP pays for it no matter the price, so they'll find out how much they can charge for it without losing too many customers over it.

You have NO idea how much the management of Cedar Fair cares about the bottom line, they care for it like it's the only thing.

I woulden't say that the gp pays for it no matter what. I have seen more cups of ice water being shelled out then ever before.

Another sad thing is that it should not cost almost as much for a soda pop as it does a beer.

Does Cedar Point offer plastic tops for there fountain drinks? At 5.99 you better drink that hole cup, because you just bought it. I'll stick to Meijer's 0.99 cent fountain drinks. :)

It would be a pretty big rip off if you got a hole cup for six bucks.

I know that they do not have straws or lids.

The only cups with straws or lids are the kids cups.

Does anybody know where in the park they are charging $5.99. I never buy the pop due to the high price, but I visit the stands for other things snf see the menu. I have never seen that price at any stand. I don't think it's even that high at Subway or Johnny Rockets or anywhere else. I would say the price for the large pop is $4.49 or maybe $4.69, it's definately $4 something.

They increased the 32oz. price to 5.99 just recently, if you were there earlier in the summer you would have not seen that price. It's park-wide in all of the quick service locations. Pretty ridiculous price to the point that it is such a rip off that it is insulting, I'll certianly never buy the 32oz. size.

I'll have to take a closer look this weekend. That's a huge increase.

This is a ridiculous comparison. Holiday World has "free" drinks and does not cost $30 more per ticket for that perk.

I worked in Chuck Wagon and the Halloweekend Skull Cups were 5.99. They also came with 1.99 refills. I dont think thats a major rip off.
