Beverage pricing: They're still not listening

It's a lot further away than a mile. It's like 3 miles from the Marina Gate to the end of the causeway.

I will be sure to look into the KOA next year.

And doesn't the KOA campground also have that "loud-as-hell train every hour" feature as well?

Yes it does. My wife and I tent camped there a few years ago before we moved to Sandusky, and I honestly thought the train was coming through the tent. Other than that, it's not a bad place to stay.

As far as drink prices, we just quit buying drinks. We normally carry a few water bottles frozen the night before. They go in a backpack hung off the youngest kids stroller, and we have our drinks all day. Not sure how we will work that next year, as he will be too big for a stroller.

On a side note, Holiday World includes free fountain drinks with admission according to their website, along with free sunscreen as well. Looks like that will be our Father's Day excursion next summer.

Yes Holiday World does have free soft drinks all day, only seen the sun screen out when the water park is open. They have Pepsi products, the cups are about 12 to maybe 18 oz do not know the size. But again as many as you want. And ice water were the Gatorade is. :)

Sent them a letter about the crazy high food and drink prices. I am curious to see if they even respond, and if they do, what they will say.

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Sent them a letter about their food and drink prices + a letter about rude employees at guest relations in the spring. Been what 6 months now and zero response. I just think it's customer service at its finest. Maybe, because I am so used to poor customer service in anything I deal with a forgot all about not getting a respose back from CP.

On a side note though, still didn't stop us from renewing our platinum passes a few weeks ago. I just won't eat there.

Yea, I love the B.S line that they put on the comment cards about how important your input is and they take your suggestions and comments very seriously. And they also say that they "will" get back with you because a manager looks at every single card.

Everey person that I have heard of that sent a letter or comment card has never recieved a response from them.

Were do you get these cards at? I would like to fill one out about the slow service at Mr Potato, and the Fire House taco near SkyHawk. The only good service I've seen was at the Round Up next to Maverick.

A side note, I was in the Festhouse at Kings Island and picked up two packets of BBQ, (the small condiments) and it to find out they are now charging .75 cents for those. While Holiday World has big bins full of them next to there food areas for free.

Untill kinzel finds out about them :)

The cards can be found at park operations (located in kiddie kingdom). That's odd about the condoms and mints. I have never had to pay extra for things like that. They are already charging outragious prices for crappy burgers, and they just keep rubbing salt to the wound. Of course the salt probaly cost's extra as well:)

^If you are talking about the "Hey John" cards, they don't have them at Park Op anymore, only at Guest Services. They still have the regular comment cards though.

You can get a side order of condoms with your meal at KI? What kind of operation are they running down there? ;)

Opening day this year two members of my family wanted frozen custard. I bought two cones at Coaster Creamery by the fountain on the main midway. Cost about $8. The cones they gave me had maybe 2 inches of custard above the cone. I wanted to give them back, but they wanted the cones. Before giving them their cones I walked over to Park Operations and showed them the cones. I said this is a doggie cone you get at the corner custard stand. I saidI understand it's opening day but, you've got to do better than this They sympathized and told me to fill out a complaint form there at the counter. I did so, saying much of what I just wrote. About 2 months later I got a letter apoligizing. The letter was fairly generic, saying we strive to provide the best food and service possible. So, I at least got a letter. I see the cones are a little larger now but, I never went back to Coaster Creamery. They are still too small.

Later in the season I filled out a comment card I got at the Midway Market and sent it in. I wrote about this earlier in this thread. I attached a sheet with various compliments and complaints about the food at CP. I have not recieved a response, however, I don't think the card said that they would respond.

Yep but only saw that at the Festhouse, they might be testing it out there to see if it works for them. Pretty soon they might be charging for pump's for ketchup.

The best deal sounds like the free fortune cookies ;)

Good costumer service is a thing of the past.:(

Customers today are often treated like a nuisance, instead of the reason that a company is in business at all. Products and services continue to increase in cost. Customer service, on the other hand, continues to decline. Dealing with surly cashiers who seem to have more important things to do than ring up your sale are the rule rather than the exception. Having a product delivered to your home means giving up hours out of your day to wait. It seems that businesses today have forgotten how valuable customers actually are. Without customers, no one earns a paycheck.

Most of us have come to believe that outstanding customer service is just a thing of the past. Mediocre service (or worse) is the norm. When a company actually delivers great service, it is almost too good to be true.

Here is a great story about customer service.

It's funny how after reading the story, you think of kinzel.

Good find crazy horse. And I agree good customer service is a thing of the past. My wife and I agree that CP just doesn't care what the customers of their park have to say. If they did food quality or prices would improve. Since, neither has happened in years they must still make a considirable amount of money on food service. As Gonch would say if the majority of the people keep paying those high prices for crappy food, why would CP cahnge it?

On a side note, as much as we all may complain about poor customer service at CP I got awesome service both visits during Hallowweekends and we went out of our way to thank some employees for their hard work at pleasing us. My wife and I discussed this on the way home after our second visit in Oct. about how those great employees made our two trips in Oct. the best we had at any amusement park all year. Great service can happen it just is so rare nowadays.

Although I share some of the above sentiments and have had my own crappy experiences with customer service, I tend to think that the ever-downward spiral is mythological. It's a bit like the "Teenagers are so much worse than they ever were before" refrain that seems to get repeated with each new generation.

Not at Universal. Within a week after my visit to their Guest Relations, I had a letter in the mail from them.

I think it goes both ways though. Many consumers have taken the mantra of "the customer is always right" and run wild with it. The fact that so many people are out to simply game the system I think has resulted in a lot of customer un-friendly policies coming down from the top of many companies. Although I do agree in your example that there's no reason someone like a cashier can't at least pretend to be interested in you while ringing you up.

I read an article about a year ago talking about the ever expanding implementation of self checkout lanes at stores. Despite the fact the lanes are by definition anti-customer service (making the customer do something they didn't have to do before) stores that implemented the systems saw huge gains in customer satisfaction ratings. Personally, I always seem to get stuck behind the person who has no idea how the things work, so they're no benefit to me.
