Someone posted a menu board photo over in the CoasterBuzz Day in Photos forum, and I couldn't believe it. $4.49 for a fountain soda. That's completely out of line. I wouldn't pay it. Ever.
For reference, Walt Disney World, where you can't realistically leave the parks (and they let you bring in food for your little kids) is $2.19/$2.49.

I guess the beauty of having kids is the part about going back to the cabin/hotel room for nap time. Eat at the room, then come back for more fun. How does someone with some input as to Cedar Point's prices on food not look at that and laugh thinking it was priced that high as a joke?

Speaking of prices, I snapped this photo of the menu at Gristmill Refreshments. I don't know what the wings look like, but that price was surprising low to me. Even the chains like BWW price higher than that. Maybe they ran out of ones. :)
Does anybody know where that menu board is from? It doesn't look familiar, not that I've memorized them, oh maybe a couple.
I remember the Challenge Park Subway having a similar price for fountain drinks and no refills last year. That place is a joke. In fact I was waiting for someone and stepped in the see how high the prices were. They exceeded my high expectations. Big sign on the drink dispenser "No Refills".
Where is that picture from? I didn't check last weekend, but as I recall, there were two drink sizes available at food stands - 22oz and 32oz. The 22oz was something like $3.69 and the 32oz was around $4.29.
There's only one price in the photo above. I'm guessing that it's $4.49 for 32oz. I can't imagine they're only selling one size at food stands, so I assume this is at Chuck Wagon or Subway?
At any rate, it makes the vending machine price of $3 for 20oz more "attractive" in comparison. :)
What's everyone crying about? Disney is $2.49 a fountain drink? Ok, well, buy a souvenir cup ($7.99 with platinum pass) re-fill at any point throughout the season 11 times for $1.99 for an effective cost of $2.49. Guess the only difference would be you get a nice souvenir cup.
I think most of us, on this site anyways, will be in the park enough in a year to buy 10 or 12 drinks.
Again, someone in management has to have the guts to tell the powers that be that they can't keep doing this to the guests.
We make the four hour journey twice a year. I can't be the only one that will think twice about coming back a second time when I see prices like that.
