Dubdub,

Gemini opened June 17, 1978

Vertigo opened August 11, 2001

I don't know the exact date, nor have the desire to look it up, but Chaos didn't open until mid-season. Out of sheer luck, I was there the day it opened. Walked past it in the morning coming through the Magnum gate, and they were attaching the seats. When we came back around later in the day, it was up and running.

But the larger the ride is that the footers are supporting, the more time they need to cure.

Footers only need 8-10 hours to cure possibly shorter depending on size, They would be able to pore footers one day and the fallowing day be ready for work.

Chaos opened on June 7, 1997.

Vertigo was between Magnum and Ripcord. X-Treme Trampoline is there now.

I never got to see Vertigo in person, is there anything in the spot where it once stood?

I hate to drift from the topic, but...

hmmm... Verigo... how I miss thee...

Was anyone else at the Millenium Mania that year? Millenium Force was down, so they were offering free rides on Vertigo! Sooooooooo good!

Too bad it kinda fell over...

There are delivery tags on the items with the return address reading "S&S Power."

I'm quite surprised that no one else has jumped on this yet...

Isn't this pretty much the nail in the coffin for the 'that's not a Screaming Swing' argument? (not as if the piece in the lot wasn't enough)

Any legal pictures of the lastest shipment?

^The Point Online has photos in their construction update. Does anyone know what the things in the seventh pic down, first row are? (I tried to hyperlink it but they (thepointol) won't let me)

Jay the Great, those pictures are legal. I took them from outside the fenced area.

How much does it cost to play on that extreme trampoline? Also can you jump up really high on it?

Did anyone happen to look very closely at the pictures from the point online website. Either they are fakes or they were originally mislabled or misshipped to Shakopee MN. That would be Valley Fair. Look very closely and you will clearly see the address for Valley Fair under the barcode at the top. Looks like a done deal to me. The wood seen around appears to be weathered, like the wood seen on the mine ride. Either it is for a retaining wall of sorts or for ride theming (western).

hmmm...interesting.

Thanks. Now that I see the pics on a larger monitor, I see that those are bolts. As for the Valleyfair address, it appears that the label that says "To: Cedar Point" is stuck over that one. I looked up the shipment # on http://www.myyellow.com, and it is a valid number. it says that the destination terminal is Toledo. What is going on? If it is meant for Minnesota coming from Utah, I doubt it would be going through Toledo. I can only guess that the first label was a mistake. I'm sure it's bound to happen. Try looking it up yourself; shipment tracking # is: slc090861686.

Walt, with those pictures, you have just confirmed that Cedar Point is indeed getting an Xtreme Swing for the 2006 season.

I still think that with the addition of MaxAir, they do not need another swining ride. Even if there are slight differences. To me they are the same type of ride.

^^ And on an advertising standpoint, I think the general public will think the same way unless they know the differences between the rides first hand. *** Edited 10/24/2005 1:47:48 AM UTC by DBCP***

Its obvious that the General public will know the difference. One goes half way up the bar(MaXai), the screaming Swing goes completely over the bar. Thats why it's called a screaming swing.

Why have Scrambler when you have Calypso?

Why have Super Himalaya when you have Matterhorn?

This new flat ride will be far away from Maxair. It won't be a problem.
