In light of recent posts of markings around the mine ride and dirt piles by MF first bank turn, does anyone suspect a new ride in 2006?
It makes sense for that area of the park to get a new ride. It's a ghost town around there and it would be nice to bring some of the crowd that way.
Plus, doesn't CP announce their next new ride in July?
Just a thought.
By the way, I haven't posted on this site in 3 years and forgot my old user name and password.
Ummm not to get anyones hopes up but i think i seen a footer behind where the swans used to be. But i am not sure of anything i didnt get a good look. So maybe someone can get a picture or something of what i seen. You could probably see a good look at it if u went behind the swings where the haunted house is during hollow wekends.
Although people generally frown on a "what's next" thread, it may just be late enough in the season to start discussing it. Holiday World's announcement is Wednesday, World's of Fun's secret is out, so I'm sure many more parks will follow.
The earliest announcement from Cedar Point we've seen in recent years was on July 22, 1999 for Millennium Force. But we did know about Dragster's footers opening day 2002 without the official announcement.
ttdragster16, this alleged footer wasn't that large concrete pad beside the swan pond, was it?

If this were a footer, wouldn't we be seeing construction vehicles and a lot more digging going on? Why would they just put in 1 footer and nothing else?

"WATER RIDE IN FRONTIER TOWN?
Opening Day 2005 brought us news that Cedar Point was planning to build a new water ride in 2005. Swans Boats were even removed from the park in preparation for this ride. Soon after the park decided to scrap this ride and instead went with maXair, which openend on May 7, 2005. This leads many enthusiasts to believe this planned water rides is still on its way."

interesting..........
Yeah, but enthusiasts like us look at any type of ground work, even landscaping and related issues as construction for a grand new coaster. *cough*Millennium Island*cough*
I think the park did a good job of throwing those that believed it off track. I personally think the water ride is bogus and won't come for a few more years at least, and will replace WWL.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
I think the "footer" that you saw was all thats left of the maintnance(sp) crane that was used to lower the swan boats into and out of the water.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Could be I dont no I just wanted you guys to see what I was seeing. But we cannot see if any work has been done back in the woods by WWL there could be many footers back there for all we know. Plus with the so called new construction markings in the area kind of leads me on to believe that there could be something coming in back there soon.
