Lot's of wood showing up. What about a major rehab of Mean Streak. Re-engineered to be more structurally sound. Re use the lumber and rebuild..
Blue people fly sideways when it rains
That wood is stained too dark for it to be for Mean Streak.

We aren't going to see any new coasters next year opening day. I'm putting my money on only the swing for next year. Although with the announcement of removal of WWL, and the fact kinzel will be leaving soon. I assume they are going to start working on 2007 ride next year during the season. I think this all started when they removed the swan boats. I wouldn't be suprised if antique cars was also removed. I think that we could see frontiertown totally rethemed by 2007. It was never really themed well to begin with, and whats the use of having 2 frontier themed areas.
I really have a hard time belieiving that Cedar Point won't do anything big with the WWL space by next year. Tearing down a ride just for construction next year, and possibly a smaller new ride, (which if it is a SS, it isn't too magnificent) would be very unlike CP.
Think about it. Cedar Point has thrown up record-shattering, ground-breaking rides like MF and TTD single off seasons. They've never torn down or moved a ride any earlier than they had to. And they've never had an area of the park torn up for an entire open season. (At least to the best of my knowledge.) Something like that would be an eyesore - not something that CP would want to have if it wants to retain its "#1 Park" status.
I'm not saying that something like this isn't a possibility; I myself am not completely ruling it out. But I (and I'm sure many other CP diehards) would be extremely disappointed if we had to stare at an open area for future construction for a whole year, even if we do get the SS.

Visible construction for Millennium Force started in the middle of 1999 and Dragster started in August of 2002. Dodgem I was removed after the 2001 season to make room for Dragster. The Dragster midway was torn up in June of the 2002 season for construction of Dragster, but they had been pouring footers for the tower beginning before the 2002 season even began.

Yes cedar point has put up coaster in one off season, but by this time in the year they had already had the footers poured for MF, WT, & TTD. The time it would take to remove WWL, clear the land, dig footers, and pour them it would be too late. They like to do all the digging and pouring for coasters before the ground freezes, I can't see how they would get everything done that needed to be done to put up a coaster.
Also, with the number of parks opening some pretty-big attention-grabbing attractions in '06, I too agree that CP will not be debuting anything major until the following season.
I wouldn't be bummed to see an S&S. Heck I'll take any ride. More rides usually means shorter lines for othe rides.
As for the area where WWL is............... I'm stilll saying the world's fastest, tallest, and longest water coaster.
BTW, what are those records right now?
Im just curious, has Cedar Point ever opened a ride later then opening day. Like in the middle of the summer or late summer.
And yes, by this time in previous years, the footers were already poured for coasters like TTD and MF but in the past 5 years, each coaster has been over 200 ft tall.
I was at the Po!nt today and noticed a small but substantial new delivery in the Soak City parking lot. There are delivery tags on the items with the return address reading "S&S Power."
Another small note of interest. The Orange Stake by WWL is no longer there.

coaster size has relatively little to do with the footers. Footers for a small coaster are pretty close to footers for a larger one.
