I doubt those boards are for any ride. Just what they're for...I'm not sure.

Seeing as how the pieces are 2x6's, 4x6's, and 6x6's, I doubt that this will be for any kind of fencing. A fence made from this wood would be beyond overkill. But what do I know. Nothing really. ;) CCMR replacement wood sounds plausable to me. Maybe new railroad ties? Not sure what size the existing ties are.

He who uses lines we ALL used in the 3rd grade...needs new material. The wood could be used to new fencing back in that area. Im talking the kind they use along the path. Not for a Coming Soon fence.
COULD they be replacement boards for CCMR?
Well, well. Great minds think exactly alike.

If they are going to put a "maxer airer" (screamin swing) they could make it fit in back there with a wood theme to it, and yes I know they are not a theme park, but just a little bit like they did with DRagster would make it fit pretty well.
"were going in a whole new direction"....backwords
To me, the placement of the SS in FT would be a huge mistake. Even if they covered it with wood (which would just be weird), it still just seems as though it would be out of place. Why theme the SS to make it fit in FT when they could just toss it up on one of the midways, where it would be a perfect fit with only a snazzy paint job? Something's not making sense here.
The only motive that justifies a move like that would be the need to increase traffic in the back of the park, but why couldn't they do that with a coaster, or some other attraction. Why take a midway ride and do extra work to put it... NOT on the midway?

How does Wave Swinger fit in?
Yes - precisely.
Actually, no. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence, but since you failed to include the standard smiley with your response...
The grandfather act basically implies that since the WS has been there so long, it automatically fits in.

But it had to be built sometime. What makes it okay that it didn't fit in when it was built?
In 10 years the Screamin' Swing will get the "grandfather act" and will be whistling when it talks, too.
Your basis is more full of crap than Wave Swinger's depends.
In 10 years the Screamin' Swing will get the "grandfather act"...
No, it would take at least 25 years. ;)
But seriously, WS was built 26 years ago, when there were a lot more trees throughout CP. Nowadays, there is a far greater differentiation between FT and the rest of the park, aesthetically.
So, maybe someone else's argument is full of crap... but who knows?
Wave Swinger is 26 years old, and looks every bit of its age - which is a good thing. It has an old-timey feel to it, which helps camoflauge its existence among an otherwise contrasting background. What I'm questioning is where to draw the line. Yeah, over time a SS would perhaps blend in, but why on Earth not put it somewhere that it would blend in right away??? Its just not logical to me.

here we go, 525ft roller coaster straight up n straight down, the fastest coaster on the planet. with speed of 200mph with a 90 degree turn lot of track, n lot of air time. seats like on the dragster. the highest coaster ever, for 2006 let cp be the first to break the 500ft or 600 ft barrier.
blade
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh its an epidemic, all the shift keys must be broken, why cant he use his shift key.... Oh wait, mine DOES work. Oh well.
I really can't see a screamin swing fitting in to that area of the park, but with maXair I can't see it fitting into the front area of the park either. I said it before and I'll say it again, a SS will be one of the dumbest additions (at least timing wise) that CP could make.
Goodbye MrScott
John
I also concur. (and, yes, that is the correct spelling) I'm glad that CP is starting to add new & exciting flats, though it seems very odd that we get two very similar (and YES - they are similar!) rides back-to-back. That would be like getting WWL one year, then Mill Race the following year... just plain silly.
Brandon
People, people, people. Don't we all know whats coming? It's screamin swings! and the wood is for CCMR. Now here comes a trick. what is the pipes for? Could it be for the water coaster ? Or is it just to dran water out of WWL when it closes and they have to keep the water flowing, or the big scare part does CP need them to replace the old ones? If you know or think what the pipes are for let me know!!!!

The piping is Underground Piping is Grey and therefore it will be used for Electrical, Not Water.

I hope they replace WWL with something good. I also hope we get something else besides a SS, in fact I hope we dont get one at all. With that said, I think that they should replace WWL with a new good wooden coaster. Then they replace Meanstreak with another looping coaster, like corkscrew, but better.
MaRiJuAnA
Are you crazy? Why in the hell would they remove meanstreak... If anythiung they should take out the large banked turn on the east end and move it more east so that they can permanently take the trims off. The Meanstreak is a visual masterpiece, why would they take it out, I could see them building a small crazy mouse coaster or a flat ride in the middle but they would never take it out.
I think the wood is for a wooden crazy mouse coaster that will somehow incorperate water in certain spots of the ride, that would fit perfectly in FT. I also think that the ss might be over the water where the swan boast used to be, either there or in challenge park.
One thing is for sure though, I cant wait for the mammoth were gonna get in '07. Mark my words, Im predicting TALLEST (525ft) and Longest rollercoaster in history, emphasizing the longest. I think its gonna be looong, like a 4 miniute ride, that my friends would be awesome
No in it long i wont ride more than a 4 mintue ride. I would ride any thing thats tall and fast. Speed and hieght is my way. So maybe 525 ft. and 145 mph. They should keep the water where WWL is and build a 525 ft. roller coaster there with fountains under it so the motor and engine stays cool and doesnt over heat like TTD.
Bring back Boblo!
