How soon do the 2006 park maps get designed/printed?
LOL
Someone has to have a brother who knows a cousin who has a former roomate who babysat a dog for the nephew of someone who is in charge of printing the 2006 maps.
Someone....out there....knows....
I doubt they bother printing them until a month or so before the park opens. What purpose would it serve to have them 6 months or more in advance?

The 2006 Watch section has been updated for your viewing pleasure.
But, as exciting as a pile of rebar is, this was just a little better.
How sweet.:)
Can't wait for him to get on those bigger rides can you Walt?;)
I can't wait till my nephew is old enough to go to Cedar Point and ride everything.

I havent read old posts here, so maybe you all have rehashed this over and over....but I would love to see a Water coaster/flume/whatever, that is themed to frontiertown...like a bigger and badder WWL. That'd be a smart decision while keeping with family appeal.
However, and this is just hearsay. A friend of my mother's friend is on maintenance there....he's sticking around just to see the 500 footer open. Have to say, I get skeptical at that stuff---but it made me a little... well, excited.
sure, I'll ride anything...

After you go around the corner by CP&LE RR, there is a gravel road on your right. There are many construction markings along this road (mostly red).
It seemed to me, to the left of the road, about 20 feet away from the tracks where the train crosses over that access road, right before the station, that some digging had been done. Did you notice this, or did this happen a while ago?

Is that something you saw from WWL or CP&LE?

I admit that this is a FAR cry from an exciting theory for 2006... but I'm beginning to think they'll be replacing White Water Landing with...
a path.
I'm sure there will be ride/coaster additions down the road as well (a Screaming Swing for 2006 is a no-brainer), but I think the main reason to remove the ride is to increase traffic to the back corner of the park.
Take a good look at the park map, or at a satellite picture. I think it makes perfect sense.
The wood in the lot is from a company that has no history of building rides... perhaps it's for buildings? Possibly for lining the new trail?
Just thought I'd toss that into the fray.

I agree if they redid the paths and put in an new ride or two that would get more people back to ride Mean Streak. Or maby they will re do the paths put in a ride and then in a few years tear down Mean Streak and put the 500 ft. er up maby they will take all the older western themeing out and make this a park of the new. I doubt they will take out all of the older western themeing.
Yeah new year, and finally got my license, well back in august. Im in need of a trip to the park.
wow
its really hard to read run on thoughts with very little punctuation especially when the thoughts can at any time completely change direction and contradict themeselves at the end its not hard to read run on thoughts

It doesn't matter where the wood really comes from, because the people from that mill aren't the people that build the rides. Its companies like Adena that do the actual construction, the parts come from various places. And wood is wood, there may be prefered wood types when it comes to building coasters (usually southern yellow pine). But it really doesn't make a difference what wood mill it comes from. This wood happened to come from a mill in Oregon, where there is quite a variety of wood.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
