Any word or thought on a ride for 2006???

Who says that a new attraction is the answer to attendance problems?

Let's all hope whatever they put in that it's not another intamin ride due to all the problems experienced with all the coasters that cedar point has bought from them. I do agree that under the tarp might be a new screamer swing for next year but maybe cedar point and intamin has come up with a solution to the millineam force problem by getting all new trains for next year. So that the restraints are much more accommodating. Maybe I'm wrong but you never know.

I don't think they would replace MFs trains so fast. If they were to replace any coasters trains, I would have to say that they should replace Magnums trains or Corkscrews trains with those Kumbak trains that were put on Python at Efteling. Those look nice.

I am pretty much sold that we are getting a Screamin Swing that will go in the back of the park. I hope they get kind of like a package deal and get a skyswat with it. Maybe they will replace DD with a skyswat and put the screamin swing in the back of the park.

And you think Corkscrew was a head banger now.

I didn't really mean that a new attraction would answer all the problems, but that's the reason any park builds a new ride. *** Edited 9/25/2005 12:39:04 AM UTC by Gomez***

Didn't the parts for MaXair not arrive till there was already snow on the ground? Like January or something? And CP barely even hyped it up too much before it was announced, yet we're getting all of this hype just for the Screaming Swing? That ride can be erected in a matter of weeks or even days, yet the parts are ALREADY starting to show up? I don't know, i'm just not buying that all this hype for '06 from the blog and such is JUST for this ride.

Although I do admit that CP didn't have the luxury of the blog last year to hype up MaXair.

Maybe tehay knew we would figure out what was under the tarp. And maybe they put it there on purpose because it is the one going to VF. They're trying to trick us. ;) It's the whole sleight of hand trick. While we have our attention on the Soak City Parking Lot, they have the new ride sitting in a warehouse somewhere.

Or maybe, its the entrance to the que or station of a bigger ride...?

I know you're being sarcastic, but I'm sure there are some conspiracy theorists on here that would 100% agree with that statement. Does anybody really think they would ship this enormous piece of steel, take it off of a truck, let it sit on the ground for a few days or weeks, load it back up, and ship it out to VF? These are probably the same people who think other governments are creating and directing hurricanes at us ;)

For months I have sat here and read these posts, and I just have to chime in.

WWL won't go away. Modify - maybe. Eliminate - no.

Its a family ride, not everyone wants soaked to the bone on TC or ride SRV (and still get soaked to the bone).

Kennywood Park, in Pittsburgh, had the same rumour floating around for years - their Log Jammer, now 30 years old, was going away, and what was the world to do.. Well they never removed it, and the new coaster was installed on the opposite end of the park in their case. They did however renovate LJ and replace chutes, belts etc. Which by the way, someone mentioned in a previous post about the logs "leaking" - they are supposed to drain water - there is a rubber valve on the rear of the "log".

Its very possible on WWL - that they may install new pumps, new pipes, and those sorts of things. But I really don't see it being removed.

As far as the mystery parking lot object - it could be for VF or if it does stay in CP - I see it in the front of the park, maybe where DD is/was - I recall reading years ago about the front of the park become a boardwalk style area (near WT, Maxair), and that is what the SS reminds me of - a boardwalk ride.

And I hate to be the 'downer' - but don't you think there would be construction by now on footers or digging, major construction by now for a coaster? Its nearly October, and nothing more but dots on the pavement. I hate to say it, but I am not seeing a coaster in 2006 (just my opinion, please don't flip out on me!). :)

Oh and the boulders on the flat bed truck - weren't there boulders part of the 2006 plans (Tony/Tyler)?

Mabey the Screamin Swing is going in Challenge Park. Anyway. i just got back from the point and this has probably nothing to do with 06 but next to MS there was a small pile of what seemed to be wood track. I know it was for MS because on the wood there were the letters MS.

I know I'm just being selfish, but I'm sorta pissed CP is gettin a swing. I mean, it seems every other park is getting one this year too. Was S&S offering a buy one get one free sale or something? I rode the upcharge one at Dorney park twice this summer because I liked it so much, but it just seems that CP is getting the same rides that all the other parks are getting now. They're not the "head of the pack" anymore when it comes to unique rides. That makes me sad. At least my new home park is getting another coaster for the second year in a row. :-)

And the one you got this year was very unique. :P

You rode a ride multiple times because you liked it so much, and you are complaining that CP may get one? Makes no sense, if you like something I would think you would be happy to have one near you.

The outline under the tarp sure looks like the top piece of a Screaming Swing. But, the markings in Frontier Town are obviously for a bigger project. Is WWL going or staying? Is a big project coming for 2006 or 2007 in Frontier Town? Who knows. But, I'll be sure to ride WWL before the season is over. And take some pictures also.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I don't think we're getting a coaster either. It totally makes sense for everything to be happening in 2007.

But then again, this is an awful lot of hype for us to just be getting a screaming swing.

Who knows.

When has Cedar Point ever been "head of the pack?" Raptor was not the first invert, just the tallest and fastest. It was the same case for Mantis. Power Tower was not the first S&S combo tower, just the first 4-tower kind and tallest. Millennium Force was "head of the pack" I'll admit but Wicked Twister and Top Thrill Dragster were not firsts, just bigger versions. Cedar Point never has been "head of the pack," they just look at what's popular and build bigger and better versions of those rides.

Race For The Sky!

Could Snake River Falls be going. In the one picture shown here on Pointbuzz there looks like there is a stake in the middle of the ride. I hope this is the case and WWL does not go. I don't see Thunder Canyon going because I don't see Cedar Point ready give up WereWolf Canyon as a Halloweekend attraction, and the WWL is the only water ride that they can leave open all year round because you do not get completely soaked. But what is soo special about Snake River Falls? I really can't think of anything except in the middle of the summer it is a great way to get cooled off. But can't Thunder Canyon be used for that? Do we really need two water rides to get completely drenched on? I don't think so, and wala with that gone it opens up an isle way to the Millennium Island and that could confirm markings on there. So if Snake River Falls does go I see one of the 2007 projects going on that plot of land along with where the Swan Boats were and on Millennium Island. For next year I think we all know that we will probally be getting a screaming swing that I see in Frontier Town. But I think we will probally get more than just that next year. I think a Skyswat is possible as I hear everyone talking about it or maybe a spinning wild mouse and possibly placed where the Demon Drop is and this could be the very beginning of the Boardwalk Project if it happens. Then in 2007 we will see the big year with either a floorless, a 500 footer, or even a flyer in Frontier Town/Millennium Island. Then at the Front of the park the completion of the Boardwalk project with a Wood Twister and some flat rides maybe even bringing back some of the Cedar Point classics. That would be cool! It could be lost Cedar Point kinda like lost KennyWood. The could bring back rides like the Skywheel, Earthquake, and the Funhouse. It probally won't happen but is a fun idea. I can see the Wood Twister in the parking lot and some of the area behind the Disatser Transport and Wicked Twister and the area behind the games that they are suspose to be removing becoming the new midway. No matter how much I hate to say this I don't think they are ready to get rid of Disaster Transport yet. Just my two cents after seeing the photos, and hearing everyone speculate.

Wicked Twister was the first double twisting impulse.
