Hopefully a water coaster. That would be kinda fun if they weaved the ride through the trees. It sounds like the name of the ride may somehow include the word Erie in it.

I like the "Erie" idea.
Does anyone have any educated guess on how long it would actually take to tear down a ride the size of WWL? Everyone keeps saying how its on the way out...but that seems like an enormous task to me....but maybe its a quicker process than I think.
It's a lot faster to take it down then it is to put up.

2007/2008/2009: Walt Disney World - Magic Kingdom - Tomorrowland Speedway
2008: Hard Rock Park - Maximum RPM! Opening Supervisor
2008/2009: Universal Orlando - Men in Black: Alien Attack Team Leader, Guest Services Coordinator
I haven't been around CP Place since it was originally GTTP, but with all the "hype" of 2006, nows a good time to make a few comments..
First off: the removal of WWL. I understand the need to build bigger and better rides, so I won't argue against that, but using the "Cedar Point does not have a space problem" as my basis, why the removal of these older rides? Demon Drop is in itself common sense..but why Schwabinchen? Why WWL? And it almost would seem as if Town Hall might undergo some changes...granted the new generation of kids can still visit the old and classic CP through Frontier Trail and other older rides, but no pun intended, those opportunities are quickly becoming history.
Second, a water coaster would be interesting, but as pointed out before, it has to be done right, and as far as theming goes, CP need not touch that with a ten foot pole. Cedar Point is not a theme park. Go to WDW for theme, go to Cedar Point for thrills.
Just my two cents...
Because removing Town Hall makes all the sense in the world if you put it together with some other clues ...
Town Hall's back in a corner where no one visits it. Town Hall has a good amount of stuff inside it that would probably be interesting if it was in a more visible location. Town Hall would make a good year-round attraction if placed somewhere accessible.
Bring in Demon Drop's removal and the mentioned destruction of the current admin building behind the games. Now, remove Disaster Transport as well as the parking lot back there (for the '07 season) and viola, large new midway with great beachfront view. Plop down that wooden twister everyone's always talking about, a Sally dark ride to mask the back of the games buildings and more importantly, build a gorgeous, state of the art, architecturally stunning building right on the beachfront that you move all the Town Hall stuff into and make it the Cedar Point museum. That leaves it with good access during the off-season if they care to leave it open, gives it great visibility for all park guests (right inside the front door) and very effectively and quickly makes a huge new plot of land into a nice midway that's VERY well placed to not only capture everyone coming in the front gate, but can feed off the recent revitalization of that area with WT and Maxair.
Ok, so this developed into my 14-year-old-rambling "wish list" for the full out grand scheme into the '07 season, but you see where I'm goin' with it? They remove rides because they're maintenance nightmares, or don't get the ridership they used to, or just simply because they can put something in that's flat out better. There's a lot more that goes into selecting a ride for removal than just not being a star attraction!

This little clue game is actually a lot of fun. It's better then what they've done in year's past.
I still think White Water Landing is on it's way out. Though if the speculation is true, it saddens me because I love that ride.
Here are some of my guesses:
*I don't think it's possible to be a rollercoaster, because wouldn't there at least be ground work going on by now?
*It's big & blue and it's on a flatbed semi trailer? Does that mean the entire ride has arrived? Or are there more flatbed trailers to come? If the entire ride really has arrived, then my guess is that it's one of S&S's devices, or some kind of flat ride. Maybe a screamin' swing like Vallyfair has just announced? But then again, this seems like a lot of hype for it to just be a screamin' swing. Not to mention that they just installed MaXair, which is a swing as well.
*And if they really are removing WWL, then shouldn't it be replaced by some other watery ride? That brings the water coaster idea up again.
*Maybe they're planning a two-year facelift on the Frontiertown area all around CCMR, WWL, and town hall? What if WWL, town hall, and surrounding areas go under major demolition and construction? Maybe this "big blue" monster will be a massive flat ride to debut in 2006, and 2007 will show us a new coaster all in that same area? But then again, we'd need a water ride back somehow.
*And what about the mystery of Demon Drop? Could that area be the 2007 thing? They've got a lot of room in that area if they re-arrange it well, as Impulsive just mentioned.
Personally, I'd like to see another B&M coaster go in just because they're always great rides, they hold up well, and they're just all around a good investment. Well, actually I hate Mantis, but Raptor, Dominator, HULK, Montu, Kraken, etc etc... are great B&M rides!!!
Who can say? I'm just throwing ideas out there.. *** Edited 9/23/2005 11:11:40 AM UTC by ballatazzar***
Forget regrets, or life is yours to miss!
I wouldn'd dwell on the whole "BLUE" issue. For those of you who didn't see the "illegal" pictures, what was there, was maybe one tractor trailers worth of stuff covered with a big BLUE tarp. So when T&T said they saw something "Big & Blue" I'm sure the blue was only refering to the tarp.

Blast from the past! That kind of sounds like the Broadwalk Project that was rumored around the time everyone was speculating WT.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, and VF's announcement this morning simply reinforces my source. Cedar Point's getting a Screamin' Swing for 2006. Could there be more than just that? Maybe. I'm just relaying what I've been told.
Wow alot of Speculation!

Actually AParks1 I believe that Jeff was the one who started the boardwalk rumor and it was not true, at least I think that I am correct. But I think it would be awesome to get the boardwalk anyway. I agree with SpenceMan01 I do fell very strongly about a screamin swing in 06. Maybe not in Frontier Town but somewhere in the park. If this is the case I think that the construction markers in Frontier Town may be for a bigger attraction in 2007. Who knows maybe next year we will just get something small like the screaming swing and these are all signs of the big 07 project. Like a watercoaster in Frontier Town and a Boardwalk like setting up in the front. You never know. I still want the floorless. Hey it could happen right?

I participated in one of the in-park surveys this year. I found it interesting that one of the questions was:
"Would you be interested in a boardwalk style area on the beach that offered a wide variety of shops and restaurants?" *** Edited 9/23/2005 7:39:29 PM UTC by DBCP***

The reason top thrill dragster is mystreously down for the rest of the season is because CedarPoint does not want any one to see the Uber 2006 coaster.
Yeah new year, and finally got my license, well back in august. Im in need of a trip to the park.
Yup, cause its easy to see stuff from up there. Way easier than from Power Tower, MF and the Space Spiral.

I have a question for all of you that seem to think that if they take out WWL they HAVE to replace it with another water ride. That's insane talk. There are no "ride police" that say if you remove one thing, you have to replace it with similar. Please. Did they put another water ride in when they took out The Mill Race? Nope. They put in Raptor instead. Maybe the ridership on WWL sucks, so that's why they want it out? Maybe the same thing is true about The Mill Race?
But again, there are no laws regarding what they HAVE to do. So, just keep speculating. But, don't say they have to do things when they really don't. They can do whatever they feel like.
Water rides in general have a couple of issues that really make parks shy away from installing them.
Capacity:WWL, The Mill Race and Shoot the Rapids all had the worst capacity of any ride in the park. WWL did have better capacity than the older rides because of the 2 chutes in combination with a rotating platform to allow better stacking of the vehicle as well as computer aid.
Maintanance: The vehicles leak...constantly. The water in most cases is treated. The chutes leak. etc. The amount of fiberglass repair that goes on is unbelievable.
You really have to be ready to spend a ton in maintanance if you are to install a water ride. Let's face it, people do not flock to amusement parks for water rides, so why waste the money on continuing maintance when you can build something that people will come for and not cost you a fortune to maintain.

I understand what you're saying, and I agree that parks are free to do whatever they want with their park. At the same time, it would certainly be in their best interest to build their park to satisfy their guests. Removing a water ride (when you only have 3 to begin with) and not installing another runs the risk of devaluing the park experience. WWL adds a lot of value to the park for families, which is pretty important.
I guess what most of the people are trying to say is that CP really should replace WWL with another water ride. WWL seems to have enough ridership (at least on the hotter days) to warrant the consideration of another water ride in its place.
