But, didn't you hear? We're getting a new uber-coaster that breaks 7 World records in 2007! Observe:
* Tallest: 650'
* Fastest: 160mph
* Longest: 9,872'/5:12
* Most Inversions: 28
* Most Air Time: 3:48
* Most Colors Used: 127 (including maize - YES!)
* Most Trains: 192
It's gonna be a good year...
I dont think so! Maybe something like the big wow that catchs everyone attetion not 650 and 160 if they want to do that they should build now. And trust me it wont happen in a life time. Maybe height and speed but nothing else. Oh and i know im gallable.
Bring back Boblo!
I think we can still squeeze in a Floorless in Frontiertown without taking down all the trees that are still occupied by White Water Landing or the Cadilac Cars. You have enough room for 1 single coaster if you took out the Cadilac cars back there. There is a lot of land. It would have to be compact a little bit, but you have a good coaster. I doubt Cedar Point is chasing records this off-season, so hopefully they bring in something from B&M this off-season. As far as 07, I think Attendance has to increase a little more before they can say lets build a 500 foot coaster for 2007.
I'd really love to see a 192-train coaster, it would be very impressive.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
As badly as I'd love to see a new, unique (and psuedo-themed) coaster back in FT, I don't wanna see the cars go away... maybe I have too many fond memories, but I just think that would change things for the worse back there. Also, CP needs to keep whatever family-friendly stuff they've got. I really think they could fit a coaster back there without taking anything out. As RideMan pointed out (in the Town Hall thread, I believe), some efficient redesign of certain layouts back there (SRF & CCMR queues) could create enough room to fit quite a bit back there.

I don't want to see any changes to Frontier Town, it's perfect the way it is.

I think most of us wouldn't want to see any changes back there, but (as we learned with TTD) no tree is safe. CP needs to continue to add attractions, and the density of attractions in FT is pretty low. Eventually, rides will be added back there, whether or not their existence back there is popular.

I think a good ride would bring more people to the area. It would be like this year with maXair and the games area. But the new ride would not ruin the overall feeling of FT's area.
Most people thought that Millennium would ruin the tranquility of the Frontier Trail, and most (if not all) of them took back those words when it opened. So I think a themed flat ride would be good for FT in (A)-Bringing more people (B)-And keeping the overall feel for the area.
Now a coaster in FT?....well that's a completely different story.;)

But I don't want more people back there! The best thing about it is the emptiness most of the time.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
But "more" doesn't nessecarely mean CROWDED. Just to make the area more noticable. Also think of this, more people over there means more business for the shops located around that area.
Though I will admit that I do sometimes enjoy, the quietness of FT. Sitting down to a nice $7 Chicken basket(:)) while enjoying the sights of Mean Streak, and the, far off in the distant, Top Thrill Dragster.
I think those pleasures would be still be there if a flat is put up next year. Flats are pretty quiet (look at maXair).....unless they are designed in a way that makes them noisy (Power Tower...though not that bad).

It's never going to happen because(from what I heard) Ohio passed a law about 3 years back prohibiting roller coasters to be over 400 ft tall I believe. The only reason TTD was built was because the plans were already in progress when the law was passed so it got grandfathered in. At least that was what I heard at the park. If I'm wrong please correct me.
Who passed that Law, Bob Taft? I've brought that up a couple times too, I think it has to do with the aircraft that fly over the park. Also the nearby residents that don't live too far away from the park. The ones that live in the very very very back of the main parking lot.
Forget those people... they knew what they were doing when they moved there. Unless they have lived there since the early to mid 1900's.
The height limit has been brought up several times, and to my knowledge no one has displayed any credentials or proof to back it up.

Think of how much money CP brings to Sandusky. Do you think the city would limit them on the height of their structures? I doubt it. I would say it's nothing to worry about.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
so i was reading something earlier about them announcing a water ride in 2005 and removing of the swan boats. when i was there, i noticed that all sorts of trees were trimmed over by thunder canyon. has this been mentioned yet?
routine landscape pruning or something else?
I've heard that too, that they were originally going to build a new water ride in Frontiertown until they thought of maXair. That's definately a possibility for what could be going in, just one year later than originally expected.

I'm hoping... no, I'm praying that you two were trying to make a joke in reference to my "coaster" statistics. If you thought that I was remotely close to being serious, seek help... now. Seriously - run, don't walk to your nearest psychiatric ward.
And, in reference to the height restrictions in Sandusky... There in fact is a bill that implements a height restriction on all structures within the county. The bill implements a tax of $100 per inch of height (per day) beyond the county limit of 90". This tax is doubled if the structure is painted yellow. This means that TTD has an annual penalty of $990,000. CP sets money aside for this tax, and they've spent most of this year's allotment on the R&D costs for 2007's new uber-coaster (see above), which is why TTD is closed for the season. ;)
