I'm beginning to think that a Top Spin is looking like a very feasible addition in 2006. I think it would like nice in the rear area of Frontierstown. Around where you split right to goto the food area or CCMR, or left to go back to Mean Streak. If you start heading left, you have WWL on your left and the shops and arcade(s) on your right, and I'm thinking a Top Spin would be a nice 'little' addition on the left side, between the path and WWL.

I'd like to see a top spin like Texas Twister at GL. Lots of fun.

Actualy now that I'm looking at your post a little closer djDaemon the $990,000 would be the daily cost. the annual cost would be $361,350,000 or $362,340,000 on Leap Years.

And, in reference to the height restrictions in Sandusky... There in fact is a bill that implements a height restriction on all structures within the county. The bill implements a tax of $100 per inch of height (per day) beyond the county limit of 90". This tax is doubled if the structure is painted yellow. This means that TTD has an annual penalty of $990,000. CP sets money aside for this tax, and they've spent most of this year's allotment on the R&D costs for 2007's new uber-coaster (see above), which is why TTD is closed for the season. ;)

Your math is a little off. 320' X 12" = 3,840 inches. 3,840 X $100.00 = $384,000.00 per day. $3840,000.00 X 120 operating day (estimate) = $46,080,000.00. $46,080,000.00 X 2 = $92,160,000.00 Quick! Call the city of Sandusky and Erie County and let them know the budget crisis is solved! Order the gold to pave the streets!

What's that? You weren't being serious?

Nevermind. :)

Actually, since we're going this route...

TTD is 420 feet tall, NOT 320'... some people here would hunt you down like a dog and kill you for a mistake like that. Oh, for shame...

Jason Hammond:

No, no, no... I was saying the annual cost, referring to the Zimbabweean translation of the root word anitotal, which means... oh nevermind... you're right.

I think if your right on this I kinda think that Cedar Point will get rid of that one arcade up in Frontiertown and maybe another building to make room for a Top Spin. I've walked in there before and its dead. I seen more business in the arcade by Gemini.

On a more relevent topic. Since Astroworld is being sold to make room for other developments, I wonder if they are keeping all their rides "within the SF family." If not, I would love to have "SWAT" That is an extreemly fun ride. Course, I got stuck on it the only time i rode it. Not sure how reliable it is.

I know this has been mentioned before. But how about a ride like Roller Soaker at HersheyPark. I rode it this summer when I went there and it's pretty cool except for the line in the station but CP can handel that better I think. Anyway it's pretty cool and it would definitly bring life where ever it's put. If not then I think were going to see a top spin or a screamin' swing. By the way SWAT would be cool too.

Is SWAT an S&S?

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

Yes, Swat was built by S & S.

Coaster Count: 147

Skyswats are awesome. I haven't ridden one but I want to. Maybe we will get all three flat rides all around frontier town. Top Spins, besides the giant frisbee, are my favorite flats. Tomb Raider: The ride was amasing and Riptide was almost as good. That Screamin' Swing in England (Rush) looks fun too.

A Sky Swat or a Top Spin are the only flats I can see CP building. They're the only ones that have good capacity.

A Screamin' Swing is a waste since maXair does basically the same thing, but better.

My new vote is for a Sky Swat. The first time I saw a Sky Swat on the Discovery Channel I wanted to ride one.

Ever think that Cedar Point might not build anything at all? And Tony and Tyler are just idiots? *** Edited 9/14/2005 12:30:43 AM UTC by "Raptor Boy/Captain" Wally***

No, but I just formed an opinion about someone else.

Why would the park go out of their way to mislead people, partly their fanbase, and ultimately make them upset?

I vote for a "top spin"(they could call it tornado)?

FluffyliketheForce's avatar

I motion to update the park and make it the best they can and forfeit the new ride addition for this year.

I can wait. Thats nothing big. If you give them time between actual builds, they will be able to turn more profit and thus deliver a better ride. And with WoF getting Patriot, I don't see them getting a coaster for 06. 07 may bring us something "wanted", "needed" or just dang cool.

maXair wasn't announced until December. (I remember reading it in class.) This means a new flat may not be annouced for a couple of more months. and a major ride would already be in construction wouldnt it? (footers and land clearing) *** Edited 9/14/2005 1:47:16 AM UTC by FluffyliketheForce***
