I mentioned it somewhere yesterday... You can use the same method that they use in many coastal cities when building skyscrapers. Build a tub (see WTC design) around the area you want to excavate, and that keeps the water out.
Simple and effective!

One ride(not a coaster) that I would like to see at CP is a ride like Meteor(that's what I think the rides name is) at Dorney. That looks pretty cool.
I highly doubt that we are getting something for 2006, unless it's like a restruant or shop. We just got maXair for 2005.

We got Dragster in '03 and that was just after WT in '02 so don't discount that possibility.

LOL @ the Towlie quote!
and thank you, Coasterfury, for clearing that up for me.
I think that these coastal cities that do things like that also have coastal-city budgets to do them on.

Even though maXair is a big addition, I don't think I'd consider it as a time filler between coasters. Not THAT big, especially since its been 3 years since the last coaster.

Yes, this ride is great. I never rode the one at Dorney, but Kennywood has one. It is a Zamperla Hawk 48. One of Zamperla's greatest rides. They took the Huss Ranger idea and turned it into something great. CP should get one, but not as a major edition.
note: there are 2 version of this ride, the 24 and 48. The only diffrence is that the 24 only has on arm for the riders. The 48 has two that rotate in oppisite directions.

Well if Cedar Point sells a coaster this year, which is being speculated in the other forum. You will see something new for 2006.
I decided. If we could get a ride like Kumba at Busch Gardens I would be rediculously happy. Looking at the layout I realised "That is the best layout I have ever seen." I don't want a clone, but a ride thats similar to it could go very well in Frontier Town.
I'm not reading back through 33 pages, but has anyone mentioned the possibility of a spinning rapids ride? (see SF Astroworld)
I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74
Screamscape seems to believe that a Screamin' Swing is coming. (And remember that last year they correctly predicted the Huss Giant Frisbee).
"2006 - Screamin’ Swing - Rumor - (7/27/05) You can see a few better photos of the survey markings in Frontiertown at .
(7/20/05) has posted a few photos of the locations of the site markers, though they are very hard to see. We’ve also heard rumors that there may be two new rides next season, so perhaps that old rumor about adding a water ride this season as well may come true.
(7/18/05) I’ve heard a rumor that some kind of markings have been spotted in in the Frontiertown area, somewhere near Snake River Falls. Could this be for the rumored giant sized S&S Screamin’ Swing or something else? More when I find out, in the meantime if anyone has seen or has photos of the site, please let me know.
(6/17/05) magazine has reported that a giant sized 40 seat version of the S&S Screamin’ Swing may very well be on the way to Cedar Point for 2006."
Ok, lets use an M16 as an example and lets say you are a horrible shot. If you fire enough bullets EVENTUALLY you will hit the target.
Screamscape is a fun site to check out, but they use the law of averages to get correct guesses. That's how they guessed the Frisbee, just throw enough suggestions out and eventually something has to be right.

Cedar Point built Mantis in 1996. Then nothing. Then Power Tower. The next year built a small roller coaster, Woodstock Express. CP might get a coaster next year, but I doubt it. I'm thinking of a huge *** coaster for 2007. I would love a coaster for next year, but I have doubts.
2006 - New Ride - Rumor - (8/10/05) Some of our possible sources say that Cedar Point is thinking about the possibility of considering an idea of putting in either a B&M flyer, floorless, sitting, Dive machine or some other coaster from some other company in the area of Frontier Town.
More facts as soon as they don't come up.
So they’re basically kind of like that.... right Juggs? :) *** Edited 8/10/2005 5:55:07 PM UTC by TTD 120mph***

Don't forget Chaos in 1997. I'm sure SOMETHING is on the way for next year.
