Yeah, but lifted to 500 feet! I don’t think Venkomas tilt coaster designs are capable of going that high. As much as a cool idea as it is.....I don’t like it, it would be too risky.
That is unless Venkoma comes up with a model that could go up 500ft.

Heres some more photos of that coaster GeeForce showed us. A coaster like that would be cool at CP.

It is isn't a coaster that really fits the Fronteirtown theming, but CP could adjust that.
The best kind of prize is a SUR-prise.

I actually like this one better:

And I think MiAdv should get one.

Regarding the Vekoma model, I cannot IMAGINE anyone wanting to make a ride with such lengthy, and weighty, moving parts moving as such at such great heights. The risk of something BAD happening when anything doesn't go 100% is mind-boggling.
There is no such thing as a minor mistake should a problem arise up there.

Absolutely, positively agree 100%. That kind of lift is good in theory, but with every moving part you add, you're increasing the probability of failure. The good thing about a reg track is that the worst that could happen is you get stuck. With an elevator lift, you run an entirely different and much more dynamic set of risks.
If we're talking elevators, why not just build a tower (similar to Power Tower) with 2-4 elevators (like what you use in hotels, etc.) and just bring riders up to the top, where they load up! I know, its kinda weird and takes a lot away from the ride, but it also adds some back to it as well.
Its just hard to talk seriously about the Vekoma system, especially when talking about a 500' hyper...

Juggalotus, I knew that we were talking about the lift side of the hill. What I was getting at is that the B&M dive machines have a pretty steep lift hill as well, don't they? Anyone know the angle of the lifts for the dive machines like here...http://www.rcdb.com/ig1417.htm?picture=11 *** Edited 8/5/2005 2:34:28 PM UTC by Coasterfury***
I would not want to be going up a chain lift 500 ft. Only one thing long real long. Plus want happens if it breaks near the top? i wouldn't want to be the person going up 500 ft. a coaster CP should get is an air powered one. http://www.rcdb.com/ig729.htm
Bring back Boblo!
Those have just as much down time as the hydraulic launch.

If they did get a new coaster, what color would it be? We alredy have yellow, red, and dark blue. I think black would maybe be a good color?
Black might not be the greatest choice, just cause its not too appealing in the broad sense. You and I think it works, but Granny Mae and lil cousin Sue might be put off by it. CP has started a family-friendly craze over the last decade or so.
My thought?
CHROME baby!
Yeah...

A sweet color in the skyline would be like the same color as KK's. CP doesn't really have a BIG green thing.

What could go wrong though? Besides it stopping.

Raptor - And it's the most noticable thing on the front park skyline
As for the things that go wrong. We can go from a simple sensor failure causing the lift to activate before the train is fully on. To a catastrophic brake failure causing a train to roll off from 300 feet in the air. It is not a design I would trust for very big coasters.
