Whatever happens next year, I can guarantee one thing: there will be a myriad of complaints.

Now am I saying lets go and raze magnum in 5 years.....no. (Nor am I saying do it to ID, BS, etc). I am saying lets get another hyper airtime whore coaster to compliment magnum. SROS NE has alot of airtime from what I hear and is a great ride. So what's wrong with having alot of coasters like that???
I would be willing to bet alot of people would like a new B&M airtime machine...ala Nitro style then not getting one because we have magnum.
If were talking what ride to remove first, (if one had to leave which none do now) my first choice would be MS. See YA!!! Then the dueling GG woodie would be there. Unless B&M had something better for there.
Raze it all Walt? Hmm, not bad, yeah raze it all.

Whether you know it or not you just explained the most significant reason Disney spent so much money designing and implementing their Fastpass. When you are in line for 2 hours you are not buying food, merchandise, playing arcade games, etc.
On the surfact it looks like a great guest perk but their motives certainly were not pure.

Well, the tricky part is having the intelligence to pick out the useful stuff from all of the garbage...I'm sorry if you don't qualify.
Also, the Merriam-Webster online dictionary lists the following definition for the word "rumor": talk or opinion widely disseminated with no discernible source. What the heck dictionary are YOU using?
Well then I guess that you don't quilify determining the "useful" stuff from the "garbage" either. I can't believe you think that I am not intellegent because I don't speculate by what I read about on the internet, much unlike you.
Why don't you re-read the definition of rumor that you posted. But you're the intelligent one, not me because I was I was using my online poker buddies as a resource of knowledge.
FYI: What you quoted me on, was not even directed toward you. Let me go as Kinzel what is really going on so we can get this whole rumor mess straightend out. I'll let you know what he says. *** Edited 6/30/2004 4:59:59 PM UTC by CurrentlyDownDueTo FillInTheBlank***
Let's go straight to the Merry-Go-Round!

Your opinion is, well, yours. You've either never ridden a GOOD wooden coaster, or you're very close-minded. Take a gander at how popular wooden coasters can be -- even within the Cedar Fair chain, good woodies (like Shivering Timbers and Ghostrider) draw the crowds. Mean Streak is NOT a representation of what wood can do.
A good midsized wooden coaster would greatly complement Cedar Point's lineup, providing a ride that's both fun and not too intimidating for the patrons scared of Dragster, Millennium Force, and the like.

Amusement Today listed it as the fourth best in the world in their last poll.
A high ranking, in itself, does not guarantee a coaster's survival. Witness Kennywood's Steel Phantom.
That said, Magnum isn't going anywhere. The Steel Phantom revamping was one that made good financial sense for the park, and we got a MUCH better ride in the process.
Now if Cedar Point were to buy up some old Arrow looper chassis, let Morgan at them, and put THOSE on Magnum, well that'd be something... :)

While I love the PR trains, I really think that Magnum would lose a lot if it had them. There's just something really characteristic about the mine trains that are on it now. It's almost like they don't belong there but they work well anyway.

ACE just put up a plague that recognizes Magnum.

Finally, we'd have a park worth visiting.
Are you saying Cedar Point isn't worth visiting? ;)

The industry doesn't care either. From the interview I did with Dick Kinzel back in 2000...

I know that nobody cares about SFMM here but the Amusement Park industry cares. That's what I meant. Sorry for the confusion.
"A lot of people think we put the rides in because of ego, to say we’re the biggest and the best, but that’s not really the truth. The truth is they’re good business decisions to put those rides in, and the timing has to be right."
There you have it. *** Edited 6/30/2004 8:29:38 PM UTC by Jeff***
