For those who miss the Canfields and McGee's shooting at you on Paddelwheel Excursions (or even further back, the Indians on Western Cruise) AND who would like a new Dark ride for the park. I think something along these lines would work back in Frontiertown. I know its a RCT creation but I stumbled upon it online and I think the Western themed concept would fit in that area of the park. I like the ideas around the 2:30 mark.
What I would really like to see, in terms of thrilling flat rides, is a Zamperla Air Race or a Gerstlauer Sky Fly. They're both so unique and look really fun. The sky fly can be either very thrilling or relaxing depending on what you choose to do. The air race is simply amazing, and CP has shown that they can add Zamperla rides with Pipe Scream. In the terms of roller coasters, a GCI or RMC wooden coaster is definitely on the top of the list. Maybe something with the t-Rex track from RMC? (Yes I know that's a steel coaster.) With relaxing flat rides, I would love to see a triotech shooting dark ride or modern version of Paddle Wheel Excursions/Western Cruise like the Jurrasic Park ride at Universal without the splash part.
CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium
A classic/traditional log flume, Bayern Kurve, Schwabinchen, a B&M airtime coaster (Diamondback, Apollo's Chariot, etc.), running Matterhorn, and Super Himalaya backwards, and one of the looping starship thingies, like Berserker at King's Dominion.
Most definitely an RMC wooden coaster, and of course a dark ride (hopefully both of which coming in the next few years). Just very excited to see what they have in store for us.

"Have a great rest of your day at Cedar Point, America's Roller Coast. Ride on."
After getting on Twisted Colossus a couple weeks ago, I'd love for an RMC creation of some kind. Great coaster at a pretty good coaster park (but not Cedar Point good).
Mean streak is my last resort ride during bad weather days, but I hope Cedar point makes it a hybrid coaster instead of ripping it down in the future. Mantis became Rougarou and it is a success this year. Mean steak kindling, or Mean streak reborn?
WTH, do you think this is senior thesis research?

While I do not care for Rougaroo that much, it is a lot better then Mantis and thats clear by being in the park and observing. And any citation of a survey released buy the park isn't going to paint it any negative view anyway given the investment in the ride and advertising.

I personally believe the Mantis/Rougarou transformation wasn't all that successful. Although a lot more comfortable and appealing, I have yet to see the lines longer than a walk on this season. Maybe I've just picked really great days this summer.
I just have trouble accepting passing observations as proof that a ride isn't popular -- or isn't meeting the metrics the park has determined for the ride.
Sentimentally, I'd love for Cedar Point to have a Kangaroo ride, like Kennywood's.

looks like scrambler with some hydraulics. I wonder if they'll convert that next ;)
Should the Peanuts movie do well and have a sequel, could Cedar Point get the dark ride most people want? Or is this a lone opinion that doesn't matter?
I had to youtube the kangaroo ride. It reminds me of the little kid motorcycles at Michigan's Adventure, except adults are able to ride it too. The motorcycles were my favorite flat ride when I was 4 because of the jump, so I imagine I'd like the kangaroo ride too.
"Sentimentally" was heartfelt. I have treasured memories of riding a Kangaroo ride at the St Joseph County Grange Fair (in Michigan) with my mother as a child. I'm sure we rode other rides, but it's the Kangaroo with my mother beside me I remember. A ride on Kennywood's Kangaroo is required on each visit to the park.
Cedar Fair's two existing "Amusement Dark" rides are both interactive; riders get to shoot at things. I'm having trouble imagining a Peanuts dark ride that involves shooting at things that aren't the Red Baron.

The Indiana Jones Adventure "type" of ride could be a option. Through the pumpkin patch, school hallways, "wah, wah, wah" and visit the whole gang before the snoopy Red baron fight. But no 3D glasses, barf......and other stuff...barf!
How on earth did you get a "mood" out of the Peanuts post? I think you need to take a step back for a bit.
I think the Peanuts movie will do very well. This is a good time for Cedar Point to make use of popular licensed characters.
Your posts are exactly what you are criticizing others for... hence the suggestion to step back. Read more objectively and you will see what I mean.
A Peanuts ride patterned after Idlewild's Mr Roger's Neighborhood would work well for Snoopy and the Gang, I think. (The Idlewild ride had riders boarding a life-sized trolley and then riding through the Neighborhood, stopping to visit King Friday the XIII, Lady Elaine in her Museum-go-round, Henrietta Pussycat and the rest of the animatronic gang.)

Very sorry for the pointless, (pun intended) nonsense last night. Will the Peanuts movie inspire Cedar point or some other Cedar fair park to get a dark ride? Any opinions?
I think the movie will give cedar fair some new abilities to make moves using the Peanuts IP, I hope they can incorporate it into a ride that isn't just kiddie kingdom style and make something for all ages to enjoy. That said, I think a dark ride, being something that Cedar Fair is very interested in, is a natural choice for that style ride and to monetize the IP from the Peanuts as well.
