A ride that CP doesn't have & you wish it would...

The capacity on flyers are awful. And it's just a gimmick, which I think has faded. If they wanted to cash in on a flying coaster, they should've done it about 10 years ago. If you want to ride a flyer, there's one at a park about 3 and a half hours south of Cedar Point.

I am talking about a GOOD B&M Flyer. Dual Station, great capacity (accounting for great CP operations), fun and intense ride, butter smooth, lots of near-misses.

RMC Mean Streak: 215ft Tall, 75mph, 4 inversions. 2020)ALL BLACK B&M Flying Coaster on Millennium Island. 2023 or 2025) Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter like Takabisha

Tatsu is probably the second or third best coaster at Magic Mountain, and there's a new(ish) flyer in China that looks absolutely sick.

That being said, there's many different types of coasters I'd prefer. At the top of that list, an RMC.

For those who think flyer capacity is awful, a dual station (which good B&M flyers like Manta and Tatsu have) give it amazing capacity, and one of the best of any roller coaster type. The only possible ways flyers can have bad capacity are slow Six Flags operations or a single station. With a dual station, a flyer can run 4 trains, and have a 5th on a side track/maintenance track.

Also, for those seriously opposed I flyer at Cedar Point, what about a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter like Takabisha?? The Point doesn't have any Gerstlauer rides (yet they are amazing coasters), and Cedar Fair is now working with Gerstlauer, beginning with Canada's Wonderland's 2016 addition. For those who haven't seen a pov of Takabisha, go watch one, that thing is insane, and looks super cool from an aesthetic perspective.

We are discussing capacity and you mention a Euro-Fighter? ? Anyway, Tatsu has a higher theoretical capacity than Valravn. So I think CP could make it work and work well.

2018- Raptor

CP Top 5- 1)MF 2) Maverick 3) Gatekeeper 4) Top Thrill Dragster 5) Raptor

What about a dark ride/coaster combo in the old STR spot? I rode the Exterminator at Kennywood this summer (which had a very long line) and think a building like that could fit in the old Shoot the Rapids footprint, and it wouldn't block any views being in the middle of the park. For our family that rode it, I thought the ride was a blast. Cedar Point doesn't currently have a Wild Mouse or spinning coaster and the added dark ride element would kill 3 birds with one stone. Family ride, dark ride, and a coaster that the park doesn't currently have.

Kennywood's was somewhat themed inside also. CP could do some Wild West or Boneville themeing. Thoughts?

Flying Coaster? GCI Woodie? Polercoaster? What new roller coasters should come to Cedar Point between 2018 and 2023?

How about any of these?

Firehawk has one station but loads two trains and the capacity is the worst I've ever seen. I mean it is absolutely awful. That being said, I would still gladly invite a B&M flyer to the park, as long as capacity is good.

You keep mentioning 4 trains. Why?

There's no denying all four B&M's are great rides (Mantis was something of a black sheep, but the conversion to Rougarou improved it immensely), and I hope to see more come to other Cedar Fair parks in the near future, but I feel that's enough for CP. So I'm going to say no to a Flyer.

To me, Polercoasters work better as standalone tourist traps—hence why you've been hearing plans for them to be built at non-amusement park tourist havens like International Drive, the Vegas Strip, and Atlantic City. On the other hand, I highly doubt they would make better rides than the likes of Millennium Force, Maverick, TTD, or GateKeeper. So CP—or any other major amusement park, for that matter—should not invest in them, IMO.

Seeing as how Blue Streak is the only wooden coaster left at CP, I'd love to see another one in the STR site—either a GCI or a scratch-built RMC. But that's just my two cents.

Any coaster gets improved capacity with dual stations, but that comes with a roughly doubled cost of operation. Does a flyer, which seems to have narrower appeal than most coasters, warrant that cost?

I like the B&M's we have at CP but let's not turn the place into a B&M dealership showroom. Variety is important. I'd like another wood coaster and a rotor, please.

CP needs something like Divertical at Mirabilandia. Looks like an amazing ride system! I'm sure it'll be easy for the maintenance crew to take care of as well!

This would be super cool! Either they make a dark-ride Wild Mouse which would be really cool, or they make a dark-ride version of Cobra's Curse (BGT). That gives CP a dark ride, family ride and a spinning coaster. Exactly what you said: 3 birds with one stone!

I mentioned it because flyers can run 4 trains, and can have 5. I don't see a problem with mentioning how many trains can be run when I am talking about capacity...

Which flyers run 4 trains? Slower loading + more trains = more stacking. I don't believe adding another train would help there. This isn't Rollercoaster Tycoon.

A racing flyer.

You gave me an idea! When you mentioned a racing flyer, they could make one track all white, and one all black. They can swerve and dodge each other and have tons of near misses and head-to-head charges, but pull up at the last second. It could finally be what Dragon Challenge was meant to be (but just ended up as 2 inverted coasters because of the bad layouts and not running them in sync). Having one all black track/supports, and one all white track/supports would be cool contrast, almost like Yin and Yang. They also have the option instead of making it 2 rides, pull at Twisted Colossus and you ride one side, then the other, and do a flying duel through trees, dodging supports and almost (but not) hitting the other train!! That would be amazing!

I really hope you're being sarcastic... Although Divertical does look like a good ride, it is essentially a glorified Shoot the Rapids. Same boats, same track type, Intamin. And we all see how Shoot the Rapids ended up...

What about a third one with a gold track?

Are you back from your hiatus?? I thought you weren't back 'til November...

On a more relevant note, I do agree with you. Divertical is basically a huge STR, and is made my Intamin. They also take up lots of land, and the drop doesn't look very intense, or fun. I think Cedar Point could do better with space... Like a B&M Flyer (dueling or not), a GCI woodie or a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter.
