A ride that CP doesn't have & you wish it would...

I'm ready to break the 500' mark. I hope the park will someday be too.

They almost certainly won't. Physics is pretty unforgiving, and once you get to 500', the required size of the elements makes such a coaster prohibitively expensive.

Plus, Maverick is a pretty great example that a ride's quality and popularity has nothing to do with height.

I am too!! *cough, cough Polercoaster*

Or what about a Euro-Fighter with a 500ft vertical lift hill...

Well, that would be painful... But Cedar Point really needs a compact, Takabisha-like Euro-fighter. C'mon Gerstlauer: Get to the PO!NT!

RMC Mean Streak: 215ft Tall, 75mph, 4 inversions. 2020)ALL BLACK B&M Flying Coaster on Millennium Island. 2023 or 2025) Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter like Takabisha

Really? Do they? I thought they "needed" a flyer?

They already have 3 coasters that have 90+ degree drops, and Maverick is basically the Intamin "Eurofighter" anyway. Honestly, I'd rather see them refresh the void that was left when Wildcat was removed, and get something modern like that.

I really wish you'd keep your dreams to yourself.

Takabisha is an insane ride and not like Maverick. The vertical lift hill is an insane experience, and so is the drop and all the huge immelmann's, dive loops, and amazing heartline rolls! Nothing like CP has.

Oh, you're right. I must be mistaken.

Cedar Point has absolutely nothing with an Immelman

Or a dive loop

Or heartline rolls:

And CERTAINLY none of that on Maverick...

Have you actually been there before?

I have been to the Point many times. And, yes there are immelmann's and dive loops at Cedar Point, no heartline rolls I believe (Maverick's was removed). But, the feel of a Euro-fighter vs. an Intami Blitz coaster is huge, and they are toto ally different rides. It is like comparing Cannibal to Cheetah Hunt...

A Euro-Fighter and Blitz are practically the same thing. Any differences you may notice have far more to do with the layout than with the type or manufacturer.

Not to mention that the general public couldn't tell you the difference either.

I still think a ride like Divertical would be the bomb!!

I bet it could support a heartline roll too!

You gave me an idea! When you mentioned a racing flyer, they could make one track all white, and one all black. They can swerve and dodge each other and have tons of near misses and head-to-head charges, but pull up at the last second. It could finally be what Dragon Challenge was meant to be (but just ended up as 2 inverted coasters because of the bad layouts and not running them in sync). Having one all black track/supports, and one all white track/supports would be cool contrast, almost like Yin and Yang. They also have the option instead of making it 2 rides, pull at Twisted Colossus and you ride one side, then the other, and do a flying duel through trees, dodging supports and almost (but not) hitting the other train!! That would be amazing!

Man I hope you're kidding about Dragon Challenge... It did duel, that's why it was originally called Dueling Dragons! And in its heyday it was absolutely amazing the way it was almost ALWAYS times to duel properly (cough Twisted Colossus cough cough). Oh and I've never understood the term "near miss", wouldn't that be a collision?!?

ROUNDABOUND.

A near miss describes missing at a close distance. Nearly missed means not missed, but just barely made.

Yeah I understand the meaning. Just think there are better terms to describe it.

CP Flyin, are you that Bryce Fourn kid? That would honestly explain a lot. The STR spot is not all that large despite what many would like to believe. You could maybe fit in a GCI wooden twister or medium sized steel twister in that space, but it would almost certainly be a coaster with less than 4,000 ft of track, and it certainly wouldn't be two dueling coasters or a mobius coaster.

I think it would be super cool if CP got one more B&M and one more Intamin. Then there would be 5 Arrows, 5 Intamins and 5 B&M's in the park. (Not counting kiddie coasters) But the chances are slim at best.

2018- Raptor

CP Top 5- 1)MF 2) Maverick 3) Gatekeeper 4) Top Thrill Dragster 5) Raptor

Here is a visual reference using a Prowler mirror at the STR site:

That's a really f**kin good comparison and fit for that land. I'd actually prefer a Gravity Group wooden twister like the twisted sections of Voyage and Hades 360, with or without a corkscrew depending on if RMC MS has inversions.

And after RMCStreak, they can open 4 other RMCs so they can have 5 of those too! Reality though, after Mean Streak, it's likely that the arrows are the next to dwindle down in numbers as Cedar Point builds for the future. Not saying it will happen soon, but CCMR and Corkscrew are probably next to go.

Does anyone know why Gravity Group's presence in the US is down to practically non-existence? I've been on both Voyage and Ravine Flyer and both are absolute perfection and the very personification [grammar nazis, I know this is not the proper use of the word ;)] of what a wooden coaster should be.

Switchback down in Texas is by Gravity Group. They've been able to clone their Ravine Flyer and Jungle Trailblazer coaster style and sell them pretty cheaply to smaller parks in China and elsewhere in Asia. Gravity Group has even been working on doing new elements with their Gravitykraft Timberliner cars. I saw a concept of a spinning Timberliner car, trains of 3 or 4 spinning cars, on a Gravity Group wooden twister. They could become the future of wooden coaster innovation.

Gravity Group may just be limited as to how many rides they can design/build a year and they have been pretty booked in China the past few seasons. I wouldn't worry about them.

As to rides I would like to see at Point. Hmm.. Canada's Wonderland has an insane flat collection. Maybe go there and shop around. Find 2 or 3 to add to the park. I don't care what, there are just so many unique rides there, some are the only models available in North America.
