Well, if CP wants any new rides, they are going to have to get creative. Flying coasters have already been said...Blue Streak is the only wooden coaster left at the park, and I think they need a solid wooden coaster. Another thing would be a dark ride that has a story behind it. I'm thinking more along the lines of Soak City/CP shores honestly, but the property is still a part of the park...
Anyway, what about the idea of a water coaster, like the one at Kalahari? Here: https://www.kalahariresorts.com/ohio/parks/indoor-waterpark/flowrid...p-coaster. That would be very cool to see, and something a bit out of the ordinary for the waterpark. What about the funnel/bowl slides?
A flowrider surfing simulator would be awesome as well, but these ideas are probably pipe dreams.
As for Flat rides, a Zipper or something like sol spin at KBF.
Betting next coaster will be a GCI on/near the boardwalk. Flat rides wise I like GMBH Skyrollers(Skyhawk at Wonderland) , the only problem is capacity. Mondial Top Scan(at Wonderland, Carowinds and KB), Zamperla Endeavour is also a favorite
The closest you can come to a "Traditional log flume" is snake river falls, out of rides that are currently operating. Honestly, where would they put it?

Work harder, seagulls! You need to push Cedar Point into the sun!
If anything, I don't think ridership would be hindered by a ride like a water coaster or a funnel slide, as CP shores needs some serious variety amongst their water slides. Honestly, adding one of the fancier slides has the potential to increase ridership. A funnel slide would be doing them niceley, or a bowl slide. Even better, a speed slide would be epic. Maybe have it face the lake, and then it feels like you're falling forever. Looks like there's a few records they could nab for themselves again! XD
In all seriousness, the only issue I can think of is space. Again, they sit on a penninsula jutting into the lake. Maybe they could put the slide on the beach and have it plunge directly into the lake? This slide in Italy does that: https://awol.junkee.com/this-scenic-water-slide-drops-you-into-the-...n-sea/3488

I am thinking about any of these rides would make a nice addition to the lineup.

Sorry for the mess. Signature under construction.
Like many others I wish for a traditional log flume to return with a nice theme. I've been thinking about it as I hear about the loss of more of these. I know Great America just closed one and the two parks around my hometown in Buffalo (Fantasy Island and Darien Lake) have recently removed theirs. Darien's is getting removed this offseason and Fantasy just a bit ago. I really enjoyed them at Dorney and Hershey this August when we went there, its definitely something I miss at CP.
CP Coaster Top 10: 1. Steel Vengeance (40 rides to date) 2. Top Thrill Dragster (191 launches to date, 4 rollbacks) 3. Magnum XL 200 4. Millennium Force 5. Maverick 6. Raptor 7. GateKeeper 8. Valravn 9. Rougarou 10. Gemini
Okay, Frito, I'm not going to lie, when I saw that, I thought it was fake. Turns out they're in dry run stages: https://sploid.gizmodo.com/a-water-slide-ferris-wheel-might-be-the-...819971330.
I think It would be great, and add some variety to the CP shores lineup. Plus, it would be great on space and it's an interesting take on the waterslide.
Honestly, It would probably make me a little sick...

I just saw kennywood is taking theirs out too. It’s such a great classic amusement ride. Wish we got a new one at cp.
First ride; Magnum 1994
