A ride that CP doesn't have & you wish it would...

I had very enjoyable day there. Good operations and great ride lineup. Clean. All they really need is "the" coaster. They don't really have a defining coaster. Goliath just isn't it. Not one thing stood out as wrong to me.

After spending a good amount of time at Magic Mountain this week, I have some comments/observations that I think would fit well in this thread. First off I must say that after hearing a lot of negativity about the park I was surprised to leave feeling that none of it is warranted. Although CP still picks it up throws it down and squashes it. Now I'm only going to mention several of the coasters and know that these are not necessarily coasters I would want at CP bit in general they are.

1. Apocalypse was a very fun woodie. And all the theming adds to the experience. It was bumpy but it was a good bumpy and did not detract from the ride at all. After having a horrible experience on Thunderhead last year I was very down on GCI. However, after getting on American Thunder, Mystic Timbers, retracted Ghostrider, and Apocalypse this season, I love GCI. So yes, like most I now feel that CP would greatly benefit from a good GCI.

2. My first few rides on X2 (both front row) were experiences I cannot describe. All I can say was that it felt like the rides sole purpose was to shake me to death since the rotation transitions are so jerky, but I kept wanting to ride again which should be the only real determining factor of a good ride...Right? My third and final ride was a night ride in the back row and it was one of the greatest coaster experiences I've had. It was phenomenal. So I think that if B&M ever decides to try it's hand at a 4D coaster and perfects the design by smoothing out the seat rotation, I think they would do a fantastic job. It's an incredible experience that I don't want to have to go to the other side of the country to experience, even if it's not CP that gets one.

3. I've never even remotely enjoyed a stand-up coaster, but Riddler's Revenge blew me away. It was smooth, enjoyable, comfortable, and reridable with very little groin discomfort. I even got significant airtime out of the airtime hill. Plus the new paint looks awesome.

4. I'm not a big fan of flying coasters but a lot of people are. Tatsu was very enjoyable, even if it's not my favorite experience. I just wish that B&M could design the ride so that the trains return to the sitting position on the brake run. After a disorienting ride, the last thing I want is to be laying with all my weight on my chest and my head down for an extended amount of time while I wait for the next train to dispatch.

5. Green Lantern: First Flight...No.

Anyway sorry for the long post. Just some thoughts.

I want a ride like the log flume at Knotts BF that combined Mill Race with Western Cruise. I rode it last month and it was one of the best ones I've ever been on. It would look damn good around MF island and could take up part of the lagoon. See for yourself:

Second that, log flume please!

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Yeah I visited Knotts too and I was blown away. Overall great experience! That Flume was great.

The issues with STR have been even worse the past couple of seasons.

STR is really hard to find.

After reading his few posts earlier today, there was literally a moment at which point I was wondering if I had woken up into an alternate timeline this morning.

^ if that were the case, I can only imagine the crap people would give you when you explain to us that Mantis gets converted to a floorless for 2015 and Mean Streak gets a hybrid makeover for 2018.

It’ll never happen! Theres no ROI!

We need one of these in the spot vacated by the AWE stadium:

It would take up a small footprint, be family friendly, and be right next to Planet Snoopy.

Clearly we need to put a Vekoma boomerang in. Then right next to it, put another boomerang in, only make that one inverted and have vertical towers. I'm sure people won't notice the difference. Gotta get that coaster count up!

He was right though. You might've drowned to death, or you might have experienced a crappy ride. It truly was an "it depends" situation.

Well, if CP wants any new rides, they are going to have to get creative. Flying coasters have already been said...Blue Streak is the only wooden coaster left at the park, and I think they need a solid wooden coaster. Another thing would be a dark ride that has a story behind it. I'm thinking more along the lines of Soak City/CP shores honestly, but the property is still a part of the park...

Anyway, what about the idea of a water coaster, like the one at Kalahari? Here: https://www.kalahariresorts.com/ohio/parks/indoor-waterpark/flowrid...p-coaster. That would be very cool to see, and something a bit out of the ordinary for the waterpark. What about the funnel/bowl slides?

A flowrider surfing simulator would be awesome as well, but these ideas are probably pipe dreams.

As for Flat rides, a Zipper or something like sol spin at KBF.

Honestly I've been amazed that none of Cedar Fair's parks have a Proslide Hydromagnetic Coaster that I can think of. It's even more surprising given Kalahari has several right near CP, and then GWL in Mason has 1-2 as well. Given the enhancements to the waterpaks at both CP & KI..I was honestly surprised this wasn't included.

The only thing I can think of is ridership, but that's about all I can think that hinders adding one.
