Were they kidding when they said that it costs $47.00 plus parking to get in? For eight dollars less I can ride...
The most adult coasters at one park
The most steel coasters at one park
The most rides at one park
The safest rides at any one park
The most gravity based rides at one park
and the most expensive coaster and collection of rides.
In short, settle down guys. SF spends 40 million on three coasters and CP spends that on one. Any questions!?!
Aren't they counting Superman? And is a Boomerang even a roller coaster?

"Welcome back riders, how was your ride."
"All I can say is it's great to be back."
OK! It has been said before and now I will say it..."WHO CARES?!!!!!" who cares?! who cares?! who cares?! I don't cause CP is better and they will probably build 2+ record breaking coasters in 2002. Also, like Jeff said, Cali might as well be Japan 'cause most of us will not go there just to ride ONE new type of coaster ("X"). And if it is a "4D" than I could care even less 'cause it looks ridiculous!

GO SPARTANS!!!
I'll let you guys know and see if I can get any pictures. I'm heading to L.A. on the 29th and plan to hit MM after New Years.
Should be interesting.

Do they already have a boomerang?
Are boomerangs even coasters? If not then They are tied with the Point.

Oh no! MM is going to beat CP's coaster record! It's not a big deal, CP will get it back in 02. And the world keeps on spinning.

All I have to say is that the Six Flags chain is a LOT bigger than Cedar Fair and MM genereates a LOT more profit than us since they can be open in our winter. I really don't care about this announcement since CP is the place to go for record-breakers and REALLY good rides. They haven't built a non-record (big-excluding Jr Gemini and Woodstock) coaster for many many many years. (And the records aren't ridiculous)
Oh well, we lost the title, hopefully we all can come to appreciate it's not quantity that matters but quality-which we have. I'll bet that our spendings on coasters have been more than MM since we ALWAYS go the extra mile to provide a unique and great ride (that's usually the biggest).

Trim brakes-a necessity???
For those asking, yes, a boomerang IS a rollercoaster. Didn't Cedar Fair just install one at one of their parks just this year? Hello? You want to start insulting Cedar Fair also? Why is it that Cedar Point can install a 300ft rollercoaster, and SFMM gets bashed for building 3? Are you guys really listening to yourselves? Cedar Point fans already have a reputation as "homers" to the point of being ludicrous, why prove everyone right? Just my opinion...

Six Fags can go butcher their parks with all the coasters they want. I liked Geuaga Lake when it had some character before they did what SFMM is doing by installing 3 coasters. I don't give a pikachu about the stupid record. How bout they do another Six Flags "coaster rotation" to bring in 4. Coasters are not meant to be bought and traded like baseball cards. It should take time, planning, money and effort to bring in any coaster. I am staying at Cedar Point 4life. OH MY GOD. They are not naming one of their coasters after a cheesy outdone WB theme. I respect them tn that catagory. I graciously let SFMM have the record. Now I hope that no one goes to CP this year so I can have the BEST AMUSEMENT PARK (Not Ride Park) to myself.

I'm getting sick.
People making feeble claims like "Most gravity based roller coasters at a park," and "Is a boomerang even a roller coaster?"
Come on! Get a life! They took (or at least it looks like they're going to take) the record away from CP, so deal with it!
And like somebody already mentioned: If you feel CP is better, why are you even arguing?
Jeff's right. Get a "waaaambulance" to CP place, stat!

Cedar Point, World Record holder for the Most Mine Trains in a park.
LOL! Gemini Dream! That's the attitude! It's really NOT that serious.
It is no big deal, if Cedar Point loses all thier records, oh well. Just as long as Cedar Point still have the same great coasters, food, rides, and fun that we all love, I'll always be happy.

Do what I do, get OVER IT!
Deja Vu will be a super boomerang/invertigo, not a standard one. Two 180 foot vertical spires, and the cobra roll and the loop. Maybe it was based on a previously overdone formula, but give the new rides a chance before you talk trash on them.
And if you do not think "X" is new and exciting, I hate to think what your idea of exciting is!

Hey I think it sounds great! I will be at SFMM next June so the more rides I can hit the better. You have to excuse some of us here Soggy, we've gone too long without MF and we're a liitle cranky. Have a blast with your new coasters in 2001!
Roy(who thinks a few of us are just jealous and can't seem to wait our turn).

"All I have to say is that the Six Flags chain is a LOT bigger than Cedar Fair and MM generates a LOT more profit than us since they can be open in our winter."
Wrong! PKS is hardly the most profitable company right now.
In four years they've managed to rack up $2 billion in long-term debt. Ouch! Not only that, but just because you're open year-round doesn't mean that the winter months generate free money. They still have to staff the park and operate it, just as they do in the summer.

Maybe Six Flags should get a clue how to operate parks so they dont go into debt. I am not sure what's is going to happen in the future, but I think soon as all the hype dies down they are going to be left with the fact that building 3 coasters in 1 year just is not practical. 3 coasters will last CP a span of 6 years of continued attraction to the park. I hope SFMM and Six Flags Parks have a great year next year, because there is no way they can continue building 700 coasters a year . I am glad to see the coaster boom is still booming, and it puts even more heat on the industry to pound out more great coasters, but its like having a carton of ice cream in one sitting. Sure it was great to have all of it now, but tomorrow there will be nothing left to enjoy. I hope Cedar Fair continues to dish it out 1 scoop at a time

*Whipp noise!
Okay w/ that outta the way "SIMMA DOWNA!"
OKay as Jeff siad early CP caught got napping, but does that matter to us?! So they loose "the most reollercoasters in one park", we still have most rides! Plus, knowing CP they won't take this too lightly. 2002 could bring unforeshadowed things. I aslo highly doubt that SFMM has more coaster coming in 2002. There is only so long Premier can neglect there other parks you know!

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"
Look at it this way...you can buy your way into the Guiness Book of World Records(SFMM), but being considered the crown jewel of amusement parks by enthusiasts (CP) is priceless.
