The space spiral moving sounds like a dream. We wont see much as far as upgrades go this winter. Of course, paint jobs and other up keep.
I say switch space spiral with power tower and take the building off DT, and re-design the entrance so it's themed to an old victorian kinda like geauga lake's entrance.
Leave the rides where they are at. PT and TTD fit so well together. Space Spiral isn't exactly at a prime spot, but i think its perfect where it is. Removing the building on DT would be almost pointless without adding amazing theming, you might as well remove the whole thing. As for the entrance, old victorian is an over used style as of lately. The entrance is great how it is, but needs more 'attention grabbers' such as fountains, lighting, etc.
Craig - it worked for the first 15 years of the rides existence....with no issues at all.
Its just another sign of lawyers making operations decisions without knowing how a ride actually operates. (Example 2: See Corkscrew)

^You can bring that argument to basically every ride, but in the long run, the rules don't really hurt anything. (Other than my shoulder when I hit it on the pillar every single train.)

This isn't roller coaster tycoon. You can't just "switch" some rides around very easily, especially rides like PT and Space Spiral.
Is Cedar Point going to the photo-less pass for sure? I didn't get a season pass last year, but I should still have my 2006 photo on file. The point being, I'd prefer not to have to drive two hours in April to get a new photo done for the new Platinum Pass.

There are no renewals, so I would assume that means you need to process a new pass regardless if they have your picture on file or not. Can't you process the pass on the first day you arrive at the park? Or does that just take a long time?
It depends on the day. If you try to do it on opening day, be prepared for a really long wait.
If you wait until that week (or go before opening), you can sneak through without too long of a wait.
What I like is that I can get my voucher from CP, but drive an hour to MiAdv to get it processed. At least that's the way I understand it.

They will be the pictureless passes, and shouldn't take as long to "process". Since they won't be printing cards with the picture, they'll simply take your picture, and link it to a preprinted pass.
^^ As long as it's a Platinum Pass. As it stands now, you won't be able to do that with individual park passes.

I know that this isn't supposed to be a wish list, but...
I wish they would do something with Kiddie Kingdom. It seems that all that they have there is a bunch of cloned rides that all do the same exact thing. Camp Snoopy could be better too.
Huh? The parking pass will be part of the platinum pass. I don't think they are doing stickers at all for 2008, so all parking will be part of the pass.

I thought when they first announced the passes, they had an all-Ohio pass again that you could get a sticker for. But, maybe that was just left over from 2007? Either way, it's not on their website now. The only mention of a season pass parking option is for Cedar Point only and gets encoded into the pass - NO decals. So, if you don't have a car, you're perfectly fine.
The Cedar Point Only Season Pass Guest may purchase Season Pass Parking this fall for $50, to be accessed via a Season Pass ID Card (no decals). Please note --- this Parking Pass is not valid until 1/1/08, and is only at Cedar Point, no other CFEC parks.
edit: Just for clarity, I know the Platinum Passes come with parking by default. I was showing the other option for parking passes. *** Edited 9/18/2007 6:32:51 PM UTC by halltd***
If there are no "renewals", wouldn't that mean everyone has to come in person to process their passes then? And even if the picture isn't on the pass, they are still taking your picture. I can't see lines moving that much faster.
And yes, if I wish to go on opening day, that would be a very long wait. So, I either have to make the 2 hour drive down in April (and two hours back) or just not go to CP the first week when processing lines are likely to be longer.

Yes, everyone who wants a pass will need to go back down for processing.
And Yes, you will have to make the trip or skip opening day.

I could see waits being shorter because they probably don't have to wait for the pass to print. They probably have a big batch of them and just swipe them through a card reader to activate them. Does anybody know if they even have a spot for your name on the picture-less passes? I can imagine that would get really confusing for families who keep all their passes together. If Sally wants to go to the park with a friend's family but grabs dad's pass, she could be SOL.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
On my KI pass (no photo) they just grab one of the stack, scan it, take your picture and then have you sign the back. I would imagine it will be the same for all passes next year. It took us about 20-30 minutes to get our passes, but they only had 2 people working the line when we went (end of July). KI had about 15 stations set up, so I could see it going much quicker if they have all stations open, even on opening day.
